Immediately after patching, I get the following error when I try to launch the game:
"The program can't start because XINPUT1_3.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."
I already tried using the repair tool and it didn't help.
I am crossing my fingers and hoping there's an alternative to reinstalling. Any help much appreciated here.

As of May 5th 2015, all 64-bit systems will automatically start the MWO client in 64-bit mode.
Two .DLL files are required for running the 64-bit version of the MechWarrior Online client. The xinput1_3.dll is one of those two files.
Please install the packages linked below:
Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable (64-bit)

DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer

OK, that appears to have resolved the problem. I didn't launch a game but I made it to the mech lab.
Thanks again for your help!

Worked for me as well, I suspect this will be a problem for people who don't normally use their computer for games. I suggest you add the information you gave us to the front page.

I to have had the same problem as a few others in this matter, however the 2 download's proved ineffective in solving this problem for me :{.
Any other help would be most welcome, the launcher just does not kick in and start at all.

RE: my last posting on this topic,
I have managed to fix the issue by running a compatibility check and returning to windows 8, and not 8.1
I hope that this may help others who have a similar problem it's worth trying first as it worked first time for me.
