I didn't see this anywhere else.

Mechbays are one of the few items that you have to spend real money on in the game. Yes you can get them during events or for playing CW, but mostly they cost 300 MC, or about $1.50.

However right now you can buy the Locust 3V in the gift store for $2.00 which includes a mechbay. For only fifty cents more you get a mech that you can sell for around 750,000 C-bills. It's the equivalent of getting about 800 MC worth for only 400 MC.

Especially for new players caught in the grind this is a great value!

The 3V is pretty fun, too. ;)

It's a great idea!

Since then you can actually play Locusts...which are awesome. ;)

Isn't there some sort of small transaction fee on international orders? I seem to remember something similar when I got the Urbanmech.

If you had to repeat this fee several times the advantage vs. MC would disappear. I am thinking about this though as after the Enforcer comes out I will be out of mechbays.

resale is 50% i believe but when you sell a mech you should put a check to sell its equipment which you bought it with too, that's why they propose so low price when you open your inventory, it's the price without any equipment

as for the transaction, if you use some kind of visa/virtual visa etc it's pretty low, around few per cents including the automatic currency conversion

They are awesome, but the Locust is not exactly a viable newbie mech. Even with all the quirks it's still one of the hardest mechs to use effectively.

I believe the actual cost between the MC value and the cash value is not quite what you think it is.

If you were to buy the minimum value of MC, it'd be right there. If you were to buy the typical value of MC, you'd be getting the mechbay for a dollar where the mech + the bay is 2 dollars. If you were to snag --oh, interesting.

There's an MC sale currently.
O.o; Did not know about that.
I think until the sale is over your idea is a bit debunked, though I confess having a mech on hand each time is handy.

The value of buying Locusts in the gift store will change based on how much MC costs.

Buying the Locust in the gift store then selling the mechanic and equipment is $2.00 for a 300 MC mechbay and about 500 MC worth of c-bills (roughly 750,000). It comes out to 0.25 cents per MC.

With the current sale you are spending 0.46 to 0.33 cents per MC. Of course that assumes there are no other fees like currency conversion.
