So, today coincidentally marks my 3 year anniversary since discovering battletech and one year anniversary since first playing MWO.

Fun times......

My regret is that I bought a legendary founder account for myself and two $30 dollar memberships for friends back when the game promised to have inner-sphere territory aquisition, a simulationist feel (no 3rd person), and not be pay to win. Now, one year later, they want us to open our wallets for a clan invasion that never should have begun until after other more important features were up and running. I realize this is a business, but promises were made.

Do yourselves a favor, and check out a functional free-to-play model. Go to War Thunder and see how it is really done. Those guys have their ducks in a row and offer a superior product. I'm way more into mechs than planes, but there is no comparison when it comes to fun, gameplay, graphics, production quanity and quality of code. Honestly, I doubt that I could be more disappointed with this publisher than I am; and I'm sure that this fiasco is going to hurt their futures. Hopefully they learned something at least.

As far as we know, there is no actual Clan invasion yet -- only their tech is invading. If the Clans are available right away as a Faction, it'll be a HUGE surprise.

And you're only paying for early access to Clan tech. The majority of people will be waiting until they become available for C-Bills. Even those who do pay aren't doing the Pay-to-Win thing -- the tech will be nerfed so it's no longer the superior straight upgrade we all know and love.

Promises were made ... and then customers demanded something else, so decisions were changed. Happens all of the time in business. Remember that players who post in forums are a small minority for any game. There are far more players who never post in forums. CW is still on the way -- it's simply taking longer due to changing the UI completely.

I bought a Legendary Founder account and an Elite Founder account. I regret neither purchase. Nor do I regret purchasing the Phoenix Overlord and Saber packages. I also don't regret the MC I've purchased for colors, patterns, cockpit items, and XP-to-GXP conversion. I will likely be purchasing a full Clan tech pack minus the gold 'Mech, and for sure more MC.

Well, at least someone is happy. And I am glad for you; really. Everybody I personally know whom I drummed up interest for no longer plays because of the way they've gone with it. A year of collecting money and still no CW? Pay money for atillery strikes and cooling untis (the latter of which is P2W). No; not good enough for me by far.

SO.
Two years later and I came back for a look.
I'm surprised. Pleasantly. The game looks good, plays well, there is the border skirmishes and planetary warfare I was hoping for. I've been playing for two weeks and I am happier than ever.
I guess I was expecting too much at the time and being a little pissy about it.
My apologies; you guys really turned it around. :)
