i wish they buffed nova's speed too
and don't tell me about lore when urbanmechs run 100 kmh

SMN goes 93+

They should give the NVA a 106 kph cap so he can keep up with the other mechs in his class. He doesnt belong in the brawl with the big boys.

I like my nova. Even when they were bad. The issues are, low weapons, massive CT/generally bad hitboxes, no endo/FF.

It does also pay a bit too much into the JJs for a 50tonner but they are also a bit of a plus and probably would rather the mech with them than without (because hitboxes would be even worse)

OP? lol no git gud.

Part of the nova's toughness is it's damage output I've found. With 12 available hardpoints I can load up on more Medium or Small lasers than any Timberwolf or Stormcrow. And, since they're all arm mounted, they fire in a tight cluster. Now, that means if we're popping an trading, when I'm shooting you I'm taking you down that much faster whilest hopefully exposing less of my mech, meaning, despite being relatively fragile, tring to take the damage on my arm, which I have two of so I can last twice as long with the same damage output.

Also, the impenetrable ground it my shield. I use terrain and the low slung body to tank as much damage as I can whilest trading, and if a few shots hit me and not the terrain, well, the laser chewing up the ground infront of me might think they're doing more then they are.

But thats just trading, what about brawling? it is where I'm supposed to shine.

Let's say I brought my er smalls. I don't often brawl well with my mediums. Not enough cooldown to maintain fire. And let's pit us against a hunch. another solid fifty tonner, and a mech I respect, even if I believe the nova has it outclassed in the brawl.

So, we're trading, torso twisting to spread damage an all that, and the Nova seems tanky because it takes out an equal tonnage Hunchback and walks away. Well, it's not the hitboxes or the armour, it's that the Hunchback doesn't have enough hardpoints to compete with the sheer damage output, and even if both pilots are just as good, the Nova knife fights like no other. It's tough because its designed to take down its opponent, thus reducing the incoming fire.

And rememeber, I don't even use Machine guns in this example. I choose to bring a few heatsinks instead for quicker cool down, aiming for more alphas over time, so there are builds out there that outperform even my murder machine brief engagements. They strip armour then hunt down the weapons inside before the lasers recharge. There of course other builds as well, sniper builds and such that use the jump jets and low slung body for trading as mentioned, but those are not my speciality, so I'll let others cover that angle.

Nova is certainly not meta. But that is why I like to play it.

12 cERSLs for turning baddies inside out in short order
and of course obligatory defense of
3xAMS*.

*Missile using people start to cry as your quirked AMS along with AMS overload allows you to all but ignore missiles.
