I noticed this on Tuesday too. PGI, please do something about this, it's taking forever to patch the client...

This is what the current Expanded view looks like:
Only thing I can say just from this image, can the Lasers be put together and by size?
So instead of what it is, can it instead be
ERPPC, PPC, ERLL, ML, SL, LPL, MPL, SPL, Flamer? little bit more organized and easier to use...

Yea, but there's no MechBay option. Which means, we'll have to go through the `MechLab in order to select out `Mechs. I say this:
1) Make the tabs at the top a bit smaller.
2) add `MechBay to top, or rename "Select `Mech" to `MechBay. and have said tab lead into the MechBay itself.
Make it something like this:
Home/MechBay/MechLab/Skills/Faction|Store|Play Now

Yea, I noticed that as well. Good thing this is only a test and not the real McCoy. Otherwise, this would be a huge mess.

The Select 'Mech menu has also been changed, and currently looks like this:
Aside from that the only changes are going to be inside the Mechlab itself.
GASP!
THERE'S MODULES LISTED IN EASY VIEW!
NO MORE EXASPERATEDLY BUYING NEW ONES BECAUSE I CAN'T FIND WHERE I LEFT THE FRIGGIN THINGS!
lol, 10/10 from me just for that bit.

I'd also like to be able to see my mech's current engine and heatsink count without pulling it up on the mechlab.

You can't even see the mech you're looking at buying. It's atrocious. Please keep the current mechbay/store functionality, and just put in the new mech lab screen once we click 'Configure'.
The whole Select Mech bit is clunky, slow and ugly. Never understood why you put that in...

What real incentive is their for doing this testing and downloading a separate client.....etc?
Some Free MCs would be a nice incentive, Heck 10 free mech bays would be a great incentive for those who test.
The only thing I don't like about the current mechlab is that it doesn't tell you where your modules are located or which mech they are on.
If the mechlab had a TAB for MODULES, which told which mech had them it would be great.
Better yet, when the cursor is over the mech, it should list the modules installed in the mechs under the QUIRKS section, labeled MODULES and font COLOR should be YELLOW.
This would save a lot of time.
Another thing to add to the mechlab is custom badges and titles.
It would be awesome if each mech in the mech lab be assigned a badge.
For example, "Little Helper" badge/title be assigned to the Locust for example. The Atlas have "Giant Helper", Currently only one Badge/Title is blanketed over all the mechs.
Uh, no, the "incentive" is helping the devs make sure this feature is up to par so it works well upon full release. You're not earning the funds they give you to use in the MechLab, so why should you keep them? Entitlement much?

Have to agree with this, the current method of browsing and buying mechs is better, the one on PTS is quite...awkward."

This looks awful and usability-wise introduces more steps to get to the same place. I can't believe PGI still hasn't hired somebody with a strong usability background.
Here's an easy example. What do all major retailer websites offer for sorting? A single drop down to sort by price, release date, etc. Does mechlab have this? YES. Gold star! Now, what does every major retailer website offer for filtering? Not 2 categories with 2 possible filters using giant buttons at the top of the screen. They use a check box or link (or both) system on the left side. Does mechlab have this? NO. No gold star! Does every major retailer have drop down boxes that you have to open to see each row of items? NO. Why would you make that the standard for the mechlab? No gold star!
Seriously, guys, I nearly broke my tempered glass desk from hitting my head on it so much already. Please stop fiddling with the mechlab until you have a really strong usability-focused person on this. This is getting painful.
EDIT: Or hire me to advise remotely.
