I think I know why you get so many apparent hitreg problems with 285 (up to 335) ping, mate.

It sucks, and alot of the glitchy stuff is your client just trying to render the data despite the ping time (or possibly packet loss?) there, but if that's where your connection sits when it's stable, there's nothing PGI can do - you're either stuck because of location or you can ask your ISP if there's something you can do.

I do believe there is a traceroute thread up here to discuss exactly this kind of thing: http://mwomercs.com/...asked-question/

It may be worth doing a traceroute & comparing your results to what's already there.

It might not just be us Anzacs being too far away having just high pings. Just look in the Mwo universe section and look at Devs drop streaming now and see how high the Pgi pings are. High considering their location. Maybe it's not just location.

hit reg is terrible not sure how this is even possible but this scenario happened, in a mech with an 86pt alpha, shot a non moving mech once with an alpha (everything hit broad side ST), the match was another MWO roflstomp and seeing as i was in a DWF it was the only shot i took the entire match (won 12-1 so fun) and my dmg report at the end of the game was 79?! how is that possible? and yes i was WELL inside the optimal ranges of all the weapons i fired (guass erml lpl)

Unfortunately, i think you'll find most people don't understand the traceroute (myself included) and there fore don't post to the thread

Certainly i took one and opened a ticket with PGI asking for advice on it, they never replied

EDIT - Apologies, i have my traceroute threads mixed up

You know the latest theory on the bubonic plaque is that it was spread by gerbils and not rats....

Do gerbils leave sinking ships??

When you destroy the component some of your damage is wasted shooting the dead part. It's getting old how hitreg is being blamed for literally every little mistake people make now.

That's a symptom of the problem. Hitreg is so inconsistent, people don't know what to believe anymore.

But yeah, full bodied alphas not registering on stationary mechs that are not missing bits projectiles passing though mechs, projectiles hitting mechs, showing the animations but applying no damage. The complaint for that are a dime a dozen, either there are a lot of liars or there is a problem

@tortuousGodess... Actually its not.

If you shoot a dead section (IE. Left or Right Torso) a percentage of the damage migrates into the adjacent section.

Yes, a percentage, meaning that it soaks up some of the damage, like I said.
