After a brief search through the archives I learned that PGI has found a community map editor NOT to be in their best interest . This baffles me, since I believe similar communities have proven themselves genius in map design and game improvement in the past. Is PGI still in denial of that reality? Or is there any hope in the community pushing PGI to get one out there for us to help create a better game ? We should have over 100 maps by now,, not less than 10,, I mean its been over 3 years. A bit pathetic that every planet in CW has the same climate, isn't it,, or is under achieving the norm for this,, as pgi put it in the past, "Free To Play" game. Spoon feeding content does not seem to me to be encouraging a massive audience as predicted by PGI. But what do I know, I only sit in CW lobbies for half an hour at a time waiting for players.

So,, is there a chance of a Map Editor or no?

well i think pgi´s sensor range is verry limited to this idea: they want only to sell new mechs but do not realize: THE MAPS ARE IMPORTANTAND TO A GAME LIKE THIS: DO MORE MAPS :) not new mechs... we have a huge varity of mechs allready but maps are really needed to keep players on the game!!!!

I've said and posted this time and again..

They have such beautifull grapshic packs / themes for maps allready done.

It should not be that difficult to say, take the graphics from river city, and make 6 more city maps, all with different layouts but same basic elements. Then take say, caustic valley graphic elements, and to another 10 maps..

This way could make map packs galore..

If PGI doesn't have the manpower or financial resources to do this, they should let the community step in.. It's actually a good business model.. you let fans create maps with apsolutelly no cost for PGI, then select say, a 100 best maps from the thousands that would come in, and reward the creators with some MC, a hero mech, or premium time (really, again, no cost to PGI), and you have a MUCH better game that more people will want to play and spend money on..

So good for everyone..

It would be important to make the mapmaker utility easy to use and have a bunch of pre-made stuff, easy to place objective things and scripts, and voila! instant game and finance boost! At no cost!

Benefits of this:

Better game
Minimal financial investment for PGI
Happy players
Game insta-level-up
Happy modders
More players playing
Financial boost
Awesome game for little to no investment.

Your move PGI..
