Reading someone elses Catapault build thread, and I adjusted one of the suggestions for what I think is considerably worse but also more hilarious. Would this actually work?
CPLT-K2
2 AC/5, 3 tonnes ammo, 2 ERLL, and 2... Flamers

Though most people will tell you flamers are useless (and they aren't too far from the truth to be fair), they do still have a place in the game and some tiny strategies one can do with them.

By taking a set of them, you've already helped yourself out. The trick with flamers is you want to tap fire them. Set your flamers on a weapon group of their own, and set them to chain fire. What this does is, you cause minor damage, blind your opponent (direct those torrents of flame into your opponent's cockpit area), and increase their heat generated (you give them some "heat" damage). By chain firing them, you do all this basically for free (you should actually cool down by chain firing your flamers).

My only issue I can see would be 3 tons of AC5 ammo, for two AC5s. It's a little light on ammo, but it's doable depending upon how you use it. I'd rather see at least 4 to 5 tons of ammo for two AC5s. My preference.

I'd say, if you own the mech and the components, why not give it a try? See how well it works, or does not work. Play it careful, and just leave the flamers for secondary weapons, encase people get into your face.

That looks like a great load out, only thing I would change is to take the flamers off and put 2 more boxes of AC5 ammo on in their place.
