I'm running my HBK-4G (My initial mech) so not a lot has changed here.....it's been my favorite for quite some time.

But I have had my two highest damage matches ever in it this weekend (no, no crazy 1400 dmg stuff. I'm still not Comp, and I can still only pack so many ac20 rounds, lol). Before I had a high of 845, now I finally broke 1000. So I'm happy. Took about 22 matches to get my 20 pts, so that was nice too.

It has reaffirmed my love of the Hunchback though. And it's ability to be effective. If I can get a few more real good matches in, I might revisit the Catapult and or Atlas and see how they fare. It's be nice to wipe the dust off of them.

So how about you? Any stories of reliving your CB glory days in your "old and outmoded" Founder's Mechs?

Brought out my (F)Atlas. Right out of the gates I have an awesome match. River City. Everything just went right. the enemy kept breaking off into pairs or single movement. They kept ignoring me. And I just kept laying the Smacketh Down! Of course reality hit soon after. B)

Well, I never became a founder when I had a chance, so no founder mechs here. I did bring out my HBK-4SP again, my first 'mech which I bought back in CB. Doing pretty well, ridiculous cooldown quirks make it a menace up close :D

I liked teh 4SP back in the day. Maybe I should buy another one and take it for a spin. It was a nice flexible medium beast.

Yes, getting similar experience as you. But in my case its partly my fault. I buy too many 'Mechs. I presently have 20 (20!) 'Mechs in varying degrees of elite and master that am in the process of skilling up, no GXP cheating. I basically play them all, once per day until I get 1st victory bonus, then move on to the next. Outside of challenges I'm never in a fully mastered 'Mech, so this weekend I'm definitely punching above my usual weight damage and kills wise with the Founder variants.

I never stop piloting my 4G(F), it is even part of my CW drop deck.

But does bring back memories, got dropped in a Founder lance last night. A Founder Atlas supported by 2 Founder Hunchback and a Founder Catapult.
To be striking fear in them new fangle IS and Clan mechs with beautiful founder carnage.

After that match, I slept well that night.

I kinda did the same thing. I went from having 8 Mechs (Founder, Sara, 4 resistance, King Crab(gift), Centurion(Gift). Now I have 22 all but 2 are mastered. I do not get the thinking of having so many Mechs to choose from.

I own 4 that were bought just because I wanted teh "Wild Boys" from the Battlecorps. My "Star" from that fanfic. We became a Lvl2 when a former ComGuard officer joined us.

Outside of my Atlas-S most are pretty dusty.

heh I own just about every mech in the game, and almost none of them collect dust.

I love all my babies. All of them.

I have seriously considered cutting down to like...a dozen mechs... but the special ones add up to ...30?

No.... I used my Jenner right up until the Commando came out. Before there were other lights people would give me crap about how I would do better if I only tried the Jenner because it was such a better mech, ignoring the fact that I had tried the Jenner and tried to make it work and always went back to my Commando until other lights came out. I still hate the Jenner.

No - made the mistake of choosing a Cat-C1 back in the day, figured I'd be a heavy pilot; From about a weekd after & ever since, wished I'd have taken a Jenner or even a Hunchie.

I sold mechs, once. One time.

Shortly after my Clan mechs arrived, i sold about 8 of my least played mechs to fund my constant build tweaking.

Mechs like the DRG-5N, TDR-5SS, etc... You know, all those mechs that where just really bad and would never be good.

I'll never sell a mech again.

nothing to do whether meta or quirks change...some mechs just don't fit good, don't feel good, or play a style I don't like. I don't care how good they are....if I don't like running them, they aren't worth keeping.

The magic hasn't happened for me at least. There hasn't been a match I've played in my AS7-D(F) since yesterday that I didn't think "This would be so much better in my Banshee".
