Not certain how many Older mech's still haven't gotten their Dynamic weapons but can we get them finished please?
Been waiting over a year to see my Dragon's with their real weapon's not the default stock loadout. Finish the passes on ALL THE OLDER MECH'S not just the Dragon's, but Commando's and anything else that still does not have them.
I personally will not buy another damm thing From PGI til this happens. It's been too long We were promised when you all started that a few each month would get their weapons fixed. Well since the clan's hit that wen't down to Only chassis that got a new hero. Dragon's have been around forever. I think the oldest mech that still does not have dynamic weapons.
Take 2 weeks from your precious Resistance and Reinforcement packs and FIX what you already have.

Burk, you remind me why my opinion on the matter is torn.
As much as I want to see my Stalkers, Cicadas, Dragons, Awesomes, and all the other old clunkers get a dynamic pass, I am slightly worried that they will get the same treatment as such like the Jagermech (how can you call those cannons? HOW!?).

I doubt they can mess up our beautiful Cicadas...
Right...?

I can't think of a single mech that didn't get absolutely beaten with the ugly stick during their updates.
The Atlas wasn't ruined by dynamic hardpoints, but they didn't homogenize the weapon assets for it. The Thunderbolt 5S was improved by the changes to ballistics sizes, but the Thunderbolt had stupidly small ballistics beforehand anyways.
The Catapult was a slap dash mistake no matter how you look at it. The initial fixing of the sizes of ACs went over well because they used the Jagermech for the AC/10 and AC/20. If they had used the Jagermech as the basis for the AC/2 and AC/5 then we wouldn't be laying complaints about those ACs.

PGI took the size that Battletech says they are... and made them that way.
"80mm autocannon?" Shrinks the barrel to that size.
What PGI fails to realize, and what many don't realize for that matter... is the caliber of the round and the protective outer barrel are not intended to be the same size. Since most autocannons are gatling guns (with few high caliber exceptions) mounted inside armored tubes (the 'big barrel' we see), the small barrels for the caliber of the weapon are something we'll never see unless we break that armored tube off.
For example, this Thunder is supposed to have an AC/20 with 120mm rounds.
Kali Yama Big Bore = 120mm (Threads of Ambition) -Thunder
Even if you assume that the Thunder is meant to be short (which it is not)... isn't that a bit ridiculously sized? What if instead, it contained multiple 120mm barrels?
Compare:
Tomodzuru = 180mm (Era Report 3052) -Hunchback

(Notice the bullets aren't as big as the barrel).

Defiance Disintegrator = 100mm (End Game) -Banshee
If the Banshee is really 17.8 meters tall like in MWO... I can tell you those barrels are well over 100 millimeters in diameter.
Now consider this, as written by the first novel author William H. Keith in a magazine which is edited by those responsible for first and second edition rules:

Food for thought.
It stands to reason the actual AC barrels are "encased" in a larger, armored barrel to protect them. Especially since the mech has heatsinks to deal with heat issues as opposed to 'air' or 'water' cooling systems, giving normal ACs their large appearance on mechs.
Also consider: Canon BT scale for the Shadowhawk.

Note the artist name is identical to the first novel's author?
I should note that there's a big size difference canonically between the SHK 2 series and the 5 series which is involved in changing its design from recon to actual combat.

"Slightly worried?" Brother, you've got a serious case of optimism! I can't think of a single 'Mech that was improved by dynamic geometry (f)art passes. There are a few 'Mechs that made it through those changes OK, without becoming much different. But the majority became noticeably uglier, and a few specific cases (Catapult, Centurion) just got outright abused. Fear the change. Laser Legos and BB guns, that's your destiny.
