Recently this subject has come up. While I may not be a founder (yet), I would suggest that if this comes to pass, keep them few in number and in rows near ridge lines. The real question here not is, where is the timberline. Is Alpine Peaks above, near, or under the regions timberline (a point in elevation where trees just don't grow).
