- Resource points are gathered, per normal, however,
- For each ‘Mech taken down, the tonnage of that ‘Mech is added, as resource points, for the team who took down the ‘Mech,
- The goal is for one team to have a certain percentage of resource points higher than their opponents, as follows in the basic percentage breakdown, to determine winners and losers, per below...
- 1 – 25% more than the enemy team –eg. Team A has gathered 100 resource points, so if Team B has between 101 and 125 resource points, AND they win the match by having the last standing ‘Mech, they win. Otherwise, it’s a loss for Team B, but the number of points gathered over the other team determines the number of additional C-Bills each MechWarrior on Team B gains,
- 26 – 50% more than the enemy team, AND they win the match by having the last standing ‘Mech, they win. Otherwise, it’s a draw, and the number of points gathered over the other team determines the number of additional C-Bills, +15% more, each MechWarrior on the winning team gains,
- 51 – 75% more than the enemy team, the match is a win, even if the higher resource team loses all ‘Mechs, and the number of points gathered over the other team determines the number of additional C-Bills, +30% more, each MechWarrior on the winning team gains,
- Finally, 76%+ more than the enemy team, the match is a win, even if the higher resource team loses all ‘Mechs, and the number of points gathered over the other team determines the number of additional C-Bills, +45% more, each MechWarrior on the winning team gains.

So, my oldest son Gavin (aka “Skullguns”) and I were talking while in the truck on our way to Wal-Mart, about how to improve the process of Conquest missions, so that brawlers and cappers, alike, could participate and still have some fun with it.

Interesting, but honestly I prefer Conquest as it stands. Its my favorite mode, and one which I often play exclusively, because it leads to more interesting tactics overall.
And I'm primarily an assault (dire wolf brawler, at that) pilot.
I get that some don't like it, but honestly I don't care about those people. They're free not to play it. Likewise, I hate Assault, and generally don't play it.
