Let's get back on to what the OP wants and not force our favorite mechs on him.
He seems to prefer having JJ's and doesn't mind being a bit slower but he wants to stay mobile.
He wants to use Large Lasers and have more weapons available.
Yes i agree he should get 2 more Jenners to fully master the chassis but he wants something else too.
Otherwise let's advice him to something that is according to what he wants instead of what we want.

I found that I couldn't fit much of anything besides making it a flightless Jenner, and unfortunately I prefer the Jenner.
Preferably I'd have large lasers and more damage, but still be relatively mobile and even perhaps have jumpjets still. I don't mind being slower, I understand that would go hand in hand with what I'm after or I'd just end up with another Cicada.

I have to echo the advice about not giving up on the Novas. It may take some work to find a build and layout that fits you best.
I have 3 Mastered Novas in differant builds for differant roles. Stock, the Prime is easy to over heat if you are tigger/alpha happy like I tend to get.
I set my lasers up in clusters of 3. This helped alot. Getting them fully elited also helped greatly.
Staying with the bigger/slower Mechs to help keep Lights off them is a good idea. Used judisiously, the sheer number of weapons the Nova Prime carries should ensure you have something ready to fire.
I do not have any IS mediums, so can not give any advice for them.

I still really like the Shadowhawks. They can load a variety of weapons, have jump jets and with XLs are reasonably quick. Granted, they aren't as speedy as Cicadas, but the OP already tried those.

when you guys say buy more jenners I'm buying the different variants right?
i like when you guys tell me what mechs you think i'd like or that you like.
the shadowhawk, nova (i used these in mw2) and firestarter all sound good. I'm currently using the cicada and jenner and probably will always use them.
if anyone's played eve i'm an old vagabond pilot (and other nanos) and have snakes. i don't play anywhere as much as i used too, but think the barrage autocannon fit with a mwd and buffer and thats basically where I'm at.

Keep in mind that it's possible to swap that 300XL engine between your Jenners (and quite a good number of other mechs btw), this is a HUGE cost saver. You might skimp on other upgrades for those 2 Jenners as well (if you're already pretty sure you will be selling them later on. Lots of people say never sell a mech but in the beginning those mechbays can be tight so make up your own mind in this regard)). Upgrades like Ferro Fibrous armor for instance. Maybe even Endo. Though the Double Heatsink upgrade is pretty mandatory though.

Yes, exactly,, If you are just going to use C-bills, buy the jenner D, and jenner K. If you don't mind spending a little MC, i would say pick up the Oxide and jenner K, as it has better quirks than the D. the D is a missile quirk, you really would not need both the D and oxide.
Unless the idea of a jenner D with medium lasers and a pair of SRM 4's, or some other energy/missile combo suits your fancy which honestly is not a bad option, it would kinda be like a faster Hunchback 4SP, or play like a 35 ton raven 3L with no EMC but instead have JJs. Keep in mind the oxide is a full on missile only mech meaning it has no energy back up so when you are out of ammo, you are out of the match for the most part. (conserve ammo and play smart this should not be an issue though)

If you don't mind the cost The Arrow.
If you don't mind sacrificing speed, Shadowhawks, but there are many other medium and light mechs that I have not yet played.

Another reason is the Hunchies are cheaper to run as a newer player. After the DHS tax, buying a single STD 250 (to share) will allow you to Elite out most of the Hunchies with effective builds. Please note I said effective, not optimized. But effective.
