I agree with all those above that a given weapon system, missiles in particular, should be the same size across different mechs.
They weigh the same. They do the same damage. They use the same ammo. They are the same weapon, why wouldn't it be the same size on different mechs?
I do realize there is a case for some weapons being sized a bit differently. A LL or PPC in an arm has more barrel than in a torso, granted. But shouldn't it still have the same size and look the same across different mechs, allowing for location differences?

the problem is it doesnt look right when you stick tiny light weapon meshes on assault mechs
so they scale them up to look right. its an artistic decision. battletech did the same exact thing with its artwork. for example the stone rhine (behemoth) has a small pulse laser thats literally the size of a gauss rifle. http://www.sarna.net...hino_(Behemoth) see the big gun on top? it only has 2 gauss rifles and the only gun in its CT is a small pulse laser. so its the games biggest small pulse laser.
yeah it hurts immersion to have the same missiles be different sizes on different mechs. but honestly its not the games biggest problem.

Granted that PGI as a whole has bigger fish to fry. However, this is, as you pointed out Khobai, an art issue, and I'm sure PGI has people doing nothing other than the artistic design and coding for same. So, unless there are other, higher priority art related problems, there is no reason this needs to be ignored.

Personally i like the Look of the Missile 2nd racks,
though i think the SRM2 Racks need to be able to fit both SRM/SSRM 2&4s,
that said,....
