Thoughts On Trees For The Game

Right now we are looking forward to some destructible trees, myself included. So to you game developers, map makers, and founders, this is my opinion.

Standard Trees: The current game version of the tree. Provides concealment from vision, adds a lot to the look of a map, and Mechs go through them like a bad case of the runs. (Yes even though we are getting more kinds of trees I feel that they are still useful).

Small Destructible Trees: Any Mech can simply crush them or knock them down. Like the ones we saw in the map vid. I think we are all looking forward to having some of these on our maps. Good for blocking hostile fire.

Large Destructible Trees: Block weapons fire, can only be knocked over by Heavy or Assault Mechs.

Huge Trees or Non destructible Trees: Block weapons fire. Mechs can't hurt them as seen on the swamp map. These are good trees...I hate to see what one would do to a chainsaw lol.

Flammable Trees: Don't get knocked over but will catch fire and burn if hit by a flamer or laser fire.

Great ideas.
Have a feeling any object destruction is going to be as simplistic as possible.

Great idea but PGI has proven that it does not have the developers to accomplish any such thing. They would rather make a flat tree and make 10000 duplicates and place is all over the map and it 90% of every sniping spot.

it is a start at least. if they can expand on it and get building and stuff that can be destroyed, that would be pretty cool. hate comparing to WoT but kind of like WoT.

I'll be very happy to see the current ghost trees gone. Yes, I agree they have a purpose, but that's a secondary concern to immersion. And it's going to be silly if people start hiding behind the spots that have known ghost trees.
