TAG should not be visible, not all the time anyway. TAG visibility should be dependent on atmospheric conditions like smoke, dust, etc.

Having done that, make the deployment of artillery and air strikes rely on "painting" the target for several seconds.

Though I think there should be a decent sized lens flare on the tag when its being used...

I started a thread on this awhile back......no results.

We paint targets with IR lasers in the present day for ****'s sake. I know most play with "H" anyway due to crap visibility on most maps but the laser should only be visible in the alternate modes.

Agree, actually. It should show up on thermal optics, but not normal. Maybe night... Not 100% sure how that works...

Lasers cut through a fog well. The tag looks good.

+1 for no visible tag (unless smoke etc)

Its already so useless on scouts who imho it was meant for. They already put their neck on the line when actually scouting.

Agreed. Nothing worse than being useful to your team. Trying to participate with your team by spotting for them. Turn on that tag and poof focus fired to death because it is SO OBVIOUS what you are doing.

Agreed. IR should not be visible unless in heat mode.

Targeting lasers could emit light in the IR range, the beam do however not produce heat and would be invisible on Thermal instruments. Howerver, I assume the night vision in MWO is active night vision, and thus they rely on IR themselves. This would make them able to see the laser from the Tag.

A little fun fact though. In real life, lasers from weapons would be outside of the visible spectrum too.
