So, I DL's the latest patch, and when I hit Play after the patch is finished, it gives me the blah blah input missing text. The prompt requests that I reinstall program. I back out and try to uninstall MWO... which fails.

I delete the program from my hard drive,and go to the MWO download site to try to reload the game, only to have the online installer fail.

I've been with you folks for quite a while, even bought a founders package, and I've seen the progress you've made. I've also seen PLENTY of botched 'updates'.

I'll try to DL again in a few days. If it doesn't work then, sell my mechs for scrap. That's about what this game has become.

The client is telling me that I'm missing the xinput1_3.dll and MSVCP100.dll files.

These two files are required for running the 64-bit version of the MechWarrior Online client. As of May 5th 2015, all 64-bit systems will automatically start the MWO client in 64-bit mode.

Please install the packages linked below:

Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x64)

DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer

Thanks, Ironwithin.

My bad for not including in my OP that I had tried that route prior to deleting MWO. The Visual C++ DL found that I was already running a newer version, and the Directx End-User one had zero effect on fixing the problem.

I've got a fairly new gamer laptop from MSI, pretty sure it's not a hardware problem. Game worked fine until this last debacle ... er... PATCH.

Not sure why I can't even start a fresh download. Maybe I need to switch from Coke to Pepsi or something.

Have you tried running the game in 32Bit mode? 64 bit became default with a recent patch, and maybe causing the error
