Ya kind of sad when I see an atlas I think easy kill.
It is sad.... But this has been the case for a very long time. Long before quirks.

The weapon quirks have gotten very dangerous.

Imagine before any quirks existed that you're under fire from an enemy mech for 5 or 6 seconds. The enemy mech fires two salvos and does 100 damage to you. You do a good job of spreading the damage and make it back into cover, savaged, but functional.

Now, same scenario, you got like +30 health from quirks, fine, but with quirks now the enemy robots shoot at double the original firing rate. Instead of firing 2 salvos it fires 4 salvos at you and deals 200 damage. You got an extra 30 health but the extra damage the enemy does to you more than outweighs the armor/structure gain you got. You make it back into cover missing a shoulder, and missing weapons.

Damage output is outstripping our ability to take it.

Indeed. Quirks can work in 2 ways, giving unfavourable and/or vulnerable mechs more firepower and becoming glass cannons, or buffing up their armour so they can give out standard amounts of firepower but survive for longer.

I definitely favour the latter because it improves the TTK which can never be a bad thing. I've always preferred longevity over firepower because it gives you more opportunities to make a difference in a match.

with half the firepower at best, and either similar speed or a fragile IS xl.

A dwolf would still win facetanking by a longshot. Theyre trying to make mechs equal in value.

Except for mediums loeleoeloeleol

Mate, I got all hell bringers in game atm. All but 1 run XL. And that standard one is hte most fragile one i have.
This is before quirks.

Making mechs as valid as others does NOT mean making a 85 tonner have more tonnage them a direwolf.
There is a reason the direwolf (clan assaults in general) are rare, especially on CW.

Unless I see a 50% armour buff to the direwolf next patch then there is no reason for this monstrosity of getting this high of an armour value. From memory this thing has more aromur buffs then mechs like a centurion that has a literal SHIELD on it's arm.

PGI, stop with the quirks. Balance the 4j and 1n first before adding more.

IS pilots, quit insisting on shoving XL motors in assaults.

IS assaults cant really compete with XL engines, how in the heck would an IS assault without an XL compete to Clan mechs then?

IS XL engines should be changed to the same Clan XL engine surviveability.

You have all the hellbringers in the game, and one has a standard engine? what? and it's fragile? wat

the Battlemaster wont have more tonnage, it will have the same armor, a bit more speed, and half the firepower.

A worthy trade I think.

The zeus has armor quirks and Im usually the only zeus in a match, and the mech is not that old.

Yeah people don't get that excited about armor quirks.

I've argued from the start that the Atlas ought to have this style of defensive quirks. It'd be a freaking wall.

A wall of justice filled with rage and seething hatred.

...I like it!

Willing to trade all weapon quirks on my Atlas for armor quirks.
