... please try this build?

I'm curious about the dakka dakka-ness, but I don't have an XL 200 anywhere, nor do I have any extra funds to spend on it.

Also, I'm not sure if I'm crazy enough to try it myself, either. :P

BJ-A "Broken Arrow"

Alternate Broken Arrow, removed FF Armor, XL 180, +.5t ammo, and less truedubs to struggle with lolAC2heat!
(I actually can try this build out since I do have an XL 180 in a Locust, but blegh Ferro cost.)

Okay so....this build is kinda all or nothing / feast or famine.
I did 5 rounds with it....which went spectacularly two different ways. First match I was basically insta-gibbed by a DW on Forest....my bad really, I wanted to ridge poke and Had no idea he had LoS on the water. So, PPC's and Gauss later I was done.
I know Blackjacks are fragile, this one is even more so.
The next match was a blast however. On Tourmouline, I had a beautiful lineup on the mechs comming out from the valley, and with chainfire set on both groupings it was a constant hail of rounds.....until I ran out...man do you run out quick.

The heat is also pretty damn intense, you have to watch your trigger control with the Hot Maps especially.

All in all, I like it as something different, but I still keep true to my 6MG build moving forward.

Neat build,

-ST

Although they're a long way off, this build is screaming for the IS "Light AC2". They're only 5 tons a piece (like clan AC's) with a minor range reduction. You'd be able to do a whole lot with those 4 extra tons.

Really looking forward to some of the advanced tech to come down the line for builds exactly like this.

Like slap the much needed extra 4 tons of ammo to make sure this build can run for more than 3 minutes in a match.

In my defense I made it 5min on at least two of them with ammo. :)

Thanks! Sounds like I'll eventually have to do it myself, just for fun.

But yes, the stock/near-stock Arrow build is just incredible.

No case for your ST ammo but I think if you get apha'ed there you are dead anyhow...

CASE is useless with an Inner Sphere XL - it only stops damage transferring out of the torso, so if the ammo goes, you still lose the XL. Waste of a half-ton and a slot on Inner Sphere XL-equipped 'mechs, without exception.

Simply replace the third and fourth little dakkas with an ultradakka so you get even more Dakka-Per-Second despite having one less hardpoint full of dakka. Now you can make your dakka and the torso on your dakka side more resistant to enemy dakka! You even get one more gunbarrel on your 'Mech despite having one less gun. Multi-barrel dakka is scientifically proven to make your maniacal laughter 110% more effective at unnerving your roommates and/or pets.

Translation: UAC5 has great synergy with AC2 and, with such weakly armored builds, substituting a UAC5 for two of the AC2s results in higher DPS and the ability to stack all the guns in one arm. The tonnage savings can be used to up-armor the RT and RA, and the side bias lets you expose less of your super-squishy Trolljack when you want to dakka somebody.

You're welcome. ;)

That deserves a like just because of the hilarious presentation.
