Hello
I damaged a ravens leg so badly (but not destroyed), that the ammo that the player had put in that leg exploded. I got a kill from that the ammo explosion but would it not just destroy the leg.

I know that if you store ammo in side torso, centre torso or head that would be a kill but I did not think it would apply to a leg?

Its probable that the extra damage from the explosion was transferred to the torso, which also got destroyed.

When you damage a component more than it has hit points, the damage is transferred to the component connected to it. Ammo explosions do a lot of damage, and lights have weak internal structures.

Works the same way as the table top game, explosion damage equal to the total of the left over ammo in the location is transferred to the side torso, when that goes, the remainder is transferred to the CT...

Explosion goes upward to the side torso where part of the XL engine is.
Being an IS mech, losing a side torso on an XL engine will get the mech destroyed.

This is true, but there is also the possabliity that there was enough damage to take out the side torso, and keep going into the center. This is why adding case to your side torsos is a good idea.

lets not forget about CASE and Gauss Rifles. you can get a gauss rifle explosions in I.S mechs since they dont carry CASE like Clan mechs do. I.S mechs dont have CASE to protect other parts of mech as a requirement like clan tech does. CASE prevents ammo explosions from happening including the gauss rifles. when i have gauss rifles on a clan mech, it would explode but it wouldnt affect the other mech parts because of case. If i was in an I.S mech without case with it and using Gauss, i could expect an explosion to kill my mech easily.

When it comes to lights and ammo william, gotta be careful on where you put your ammo at and make sure you have CASE on it especially if you are using an XL engine. If your going to put ammo on a light mech's leg, bad idea. Lights get legged in game 90% of the time and if there is ammo in those legs, it will kill the mech as an added bonus.

CASE is generally worthless as a rule*. The best places to put ammo for a light pilot are the head and CT as if you get critted there you are generally going to die anyways. Legs are generally a no go because they get damaged and shot at alot. For clan mechs like Warhawk or Dire Wolf arms are generally a solid choice.

*You are running clan and don't have anything that could explode other than that Gauss rifle which will take out the torso it is in. You are IS and running a XL engine and CASE doesn't help.
