This build has been working rather well for me. It's surprising, because honestly, I don't need the AMS, and am thinking of removing it for another ton of MG ammo. Without any skills, the mech maintains good heat, and with proper discipline it probably will not over heat, as long as you keep your engagement ranges right.

My method is to use the ERLL as my main weapon weapon group (WG) 1, MGs at WG2, and the MLs at WG3. Poke with the ERLL and soften people up from a distance, while abusing my turret, MLs while closing in, and MGs when up close to make sure their internal organs are turned into mush.

First drop in this thing nabbed me a couple of assaults, and 2 lights.

My R63 gave up his flight capability for a Gauss! Just upgraded to a STD100 so it goes FAST!

Sick with the big guys, don't stepped on, and make all 20 shots count. Took down a MadCat and a Cent one fight (well, finished them off). You'll never outrun anyone, so if you get cornered, you just have to charge at them and keep firing - sometimes they can't aim low enough to hit you.

Wow, I am loving these builds.

I was thinking of doing something Gauss on the little trash can. Getting used to the 360 rotation range has been funky, but people shoot my back thinking it's my front, or vice versa, and thanks to that the urbie tanks a lot of hits.

I think you can cram an xl125 in most builds using a large ballistic arm, but I really try not to use XL engines because I tend to be a frequent target. For me, using cover and being patient keeps me alive better than pretending I'm in my Locusts.

Of course the major improvement I'm waiting for is a rearview monitor!

I run 2xERLLs and 3x MGs with 2 tonnes of ammo in an XL180 urbie, with a single JJ and near full armour (couple of points off the head only) - much better for long range poking

R60 is my favorite.

You can swap out the PPC for ERPPC, but watch the heat if you do.

There's like a bajillion of them. Deservedly so. This revered avatar of justice should be honored, and respected with titles, oaths, and threads. Lots of threads. XD

So far I am running the r-63 with max engine, 3 ml, and ac5. The 60L is 4 mpl, 2mg, max engine. The 60 I have a standard engine (175 I think) 2 ml and 4 mg,!but I am not really happy with it. I will probably go with an xl and larger energy weapons maybe LPL or Erppc plus 4mg.

been running the 60 with a LPL, MPL and 4MG with an xl 125 "Bizzarro Urbie" i call him since it's light on ballistics, heavy laser. been my most successful build.

oddly i have better w/l and kdr in my xl urbies than my std urbies (have 2 of each- both 63s are std (100 and 120), the 60L xl120). the most urbie of my builds (std 100 ac10 and ml) is the least succesful. other two i have ac5s and 2ML/4SPLs to round them out. only run into trouble when i get left behind or get caught trying to get from one group to another.

I haven't been brave enough to drop down to a small engine yet since a fast Urbie is a slow light, and I make my living in fast lights ;)

Sometimes being slow will surprise you, I've been fear more successful in my gauss R63 than I ever expected, and it has the std60 puttering along. Really I find that you don't need much more than 65kph to stay out of trouble when you tag along with the big guys. Of course I also shun the XL engine builds if possible, with the exception of my AC20 R60L, because it runs out of slots unless I run max engine (endo/ferro).

You know you can upgrade to Double HS in order to spam the PPC or ERPPC with ease...
Deputy dawg alternative if i recall correctly Deputy Dawg comes with 6x Mg and 1x PPC on Bishop drawings..

Here, I thought you guys might find this amusing:

I have a little Urbie,
He is short and rather round.
His resemblance to a trash can
Is really quite profound.
He may not be the fastest mech
But with this he will astound,
The might of his small laser
And the size of his AC round.
No don't forget the Urbie
So short and slow and squat.
He will reign victorious
And the others they will not.

Would you share your Gauss Build. I'm wondering how you slapped the Gauss in there, with anything more than 2 tons of ammo.

I keep it simple: endo, 125xl, small laser, gauss with 3 tons of ammo and 3 tons of armor stretched to cover whatever you think is important. I use the R63 so I can put the he small laser in the side torso, the arm is just a damage absorbing component.

Thanks, that helps me out a bit.
