Yes.

It's probably working as intended™ too.

I would dare say it IS working as intended.

https://youtu.be/jVq1oGPIfO8?t=2m15s

it is how the original PPCs looked in the MW games.

I like this change as I play with minimum settings and it makes the PPC projectile far perceivable.

Aesthetically, the current PPC may look worse but I can't tell.

They look entirely unchanged, running on maximum settings.

And this is how PPCs look in Battletech art.

I'm playing at max settings since 2012 pal , they totally changed them and not for the better. They where always described as bolts , MW4 did it right , MWO did a mix of MW2 and the lore description but now.........fallback to MW2.

I could care less about MW2 fanboys right now , this is just wrong -_-

Personally I think it would be nice to have a new animation all together. Some sort of multiple energy (perhaps blue arcs of lightning) bloom at the barrel that comes back together at 90 meters to form the projectile that starts at that point and speeds away.

ER-PPC's can remain as they are.

I like this suggestion.

There is no difference between the Tuesday, 5/19/2015 patch and one, two, three, or even 52 weeks before. Not on my computer. They still look like bolts on my computer, fast moving comets with contrails and lightning crackles.

If it's looking different for you after this patch, then they've done something where hardware differences are screwing with the effects.

As for the PPC description, nobody did it right because the definition of a PPC describes it as a beam weapon.

I am under the impression the PPC effects are broken only on DX11 There is a thread about it on the patch feedback forum.

I prefer them to finish the game first than this waste of time changes.

.......ok so they broke directx 11 now XD XD XD

Could be. I don't run DX11 in MWO because it likes to make the game randomly crash to desktop, so that could be why they appear unaffected on my computer.

On my computer, they've always looked like bolts, the way they should. But I've seen gameplay footage from other people where they look like balls. I've always wondered about that.

I hate to be that guy, but...

PPC animation is just another of those things that looked better in Closed Beta!

Nah man. I much prefer the current sound. I love the sound of it re-charging on the cooldown.

I LOVE the MW4 PPC sound basically a VERY high pitched electrical discharge, kinda hard to describe but it was pretty alarming and badass.

The noise you hear before the PPC fires is its recharge also, and that sounds awesome also.

In the patch notes there was some change for DX 11. Perhaps that inadvertently caused the PPC particle effects to change?
