So I can't seem to track down the answer and my feeble memory is failing me.

Clan Wave 3 packs come with 3 variants of the mechs, but four variants are listed.

Can someone remind me how the fourth variants are/were obtained? I'm assuming it was some special award or unlock, but I can't seem to find any info.

I believe the "C" chassis was only available to early adopters. I know that was the case for the Cauldron Born, the all missile one. Not positive about the rest.

And for some reason, even if you initially preordered in time, upgrading your order does not get you the fourth variant for any mechs you add.

I guess that was to incentivize early impulse purchases? Kind of gives us fence-sitters less of a reason to upgrade, though. I'm inclined to not upgrade, just to punish the behavior.

Figured that was the case but oddly can't find the info in any early adopter announcement. I lack forum-fu.

Uh, yeah. The page itself is woefully unclear now that the early adopter offer has expired.

However, seeing the 4th variant info is relatively important.
