Ice Ferret is currently the closest thing to a Light than the current set of Clan Lights.

"Fat Clan Light" is just as accurate as the Cicada being a "Fat IS Light".

It is what it is.

Hey so long as that's the popular thought on the subject. I love my badders. I'd just hate for them to look at the badder and think "Well, we removed the flamer, now we have to nerf it somehow, because, balance."

Well, the high mounted head energy hardpoint would actually be useful had it not been automatically occupied by the worst weapon in the game.

It's easier to write off an Adder that has 4 hardpoints + "that useless Flamer".

I would much rather the devs make the flamer better than outright remove it as fixed equipment from the Adder.

With that being said, where does this end? Will the Mist Lynx also have its fixed Clan Active Probe freed up? How about the Summoner and Nova's jump jets?

I for one have gotten used to the flamer and use it as a blinding weapon while attacking with streaks, pulse lasers. I doubt I will remove it from that mech but nice to have the option.

Even as an Adder enthusiast, I will say this:

They better give the arm omnipods some amazing quirks, otherwise there's absolutely no incentive to put weapons in the arms. People will just strip them to the bone and using all the free weight for torso- and cockpit-mounted sniping weapons. Maybe torso-mounted 2LPL+ML and replace flamer with extra DHS or targeting computer. Or even torso-mounted 3xLL for CW.

Sick to death of seeing Hellbringers with 2UAC5s and 4 MLs all in the torso, with arms stripped of weapons and armour.

So much Battletech. <_<

Woot, extra heatsink!

I doubt it. They'll probably keep the CT fixed structure slot. No CT heatsink, no CT PPC :)

I'm not saying there's a problem with any of them. I actually love the Clan omnimechs they way they are, and the way there were before quirks. I was just wondering if this will pave the way to removing fixed equipment on other omnimech chassis, like jump jets, MASC, and extra fixed heat sinks. But this could just be limited to weapons. There are so few canon omnimechs that have fixed weapons. The only other two I can think of are the Naga and Avatar.
