Most have "bad" clan mechs are just harder to get good results in than the "good" ones, and their best builds are not always as useful at mixed ranges and takes more determination to learn the subtle skills and patience needed for positioning (same problem most IS mechs have)
The ice ferret is the clan mech I am the least scared of because the number of pilots who can push its limited potential is even lower than the misunderstood Gargoyle, Nova and Adder. Some pilots are born with the random raw talents or have the pentacle of stubborn determination to conquer the hardest of challenges in damage output. Please just realize that the lower the number of individuals who can obtain good stats becomes the relative gauge for how "bad" a mech is in this game. I am sorry to say for me Ice Ferret still has the lowest "felt" battle field impact of all clan mechs, but your excellent results have been added and my personal ratings have changed accordingly.

Wise write up Chuck, and its true that the vast majorty will have incredible diffculty in making this mech perform.
But for all of those versed in the ways of Cicada and Commando, this mech should be right up your alley.

See the way I always looked at it, for myself at least is not always about numbers. When I say numbers I mean damage/kills etc.
What I gauge a mech on is my ability to make an enemy react to my actions. When you are always forcing the enemy to react to you, you have the initiative which in its own right is a weapon. One of my tried, true and favorite tactics is to get in behind the firing lines and hit each mech I see once. If you can force them to turn and see whats shooting them...even half, your team has a shot at causing a positive trade (armor left) in the next salvo.
The net result is disorganizing their line and causing havoc.
Its other plus is the speed, if you piss them off enough and a light or two comes after you....they first need to catch up (which they will do at 10km/h-20 depending on the light). You draw them far enough away and then re-engage with Streaks/ML's.
You are right, it takes a lot to make certain chassis work. But I really in all truth believe that is because other games have always taught us the two demensional tactic of cover, and shoot without much thought into the dynamic of combat.
If I can make you do what I want and predict you will do, I am winning.
The Ice Ferret is one mech that allows me, to do exactly that.
Good write-up BTW.

The Cicada is my fav IS mech and the Iceferret feels very similar. Got Ace of Spades with CERPPC on quirk arm with cool down module, rate of fire is pretty ridiculous. If u can hit targets while running max speed the Iceferret should be a good fit for you.
