And once again, IS loyalists are those who get the shorter straw. If people that belong to large units like me, if they want to participate, they need to leave their units, right? Just having to be re-invited and re-ranked a few day later, right? Holy bureaucracy!

Why isn't there a specific objective for IS players that is KILLING Invation/Gold mechs? Same points, same mechanics, but applied to the other side of the trench. This would solve the predictable endless clan queues and allow loyalists to stay where they are.

Sorry Alex but I don't like this event or the way it was conceived, and I don't think it reaches a minimum of justice (regarding the effort/return ratio) among all the population.

This event could end up being harsh on those IS loyalists but no more so than the last event was harsh to non phoenix owners or the previous to non founders.

Those who purchased clan packs put a fair amount of cash into the game.

Also I am willing to bet that the next planned event will centre around the resistance package.

No, no. Completely different things!

Founders and Phoenix only required you to have those mechs IF you wanted to participate in the leaderboard - it was not part of the challenge per se (let's call it tournament style). This time, in order for you to complete a personal challenge (it's there, listed on your challenge page) you need to break contracts 2 times (paying to get out and then paying to get in again) and deal with other internal issues (bureaucratic) you may face within your unit.

So, not only short contracts benefit from this (price to break is lower) but for a Merc unit this is an "everyday" move - not loyalists, I'm sorry.

I would like to welcome every one back to the island... Russ this is not about player choices as you tweeted.

In the last 2 events all side could fully participate assuming they had the required mech and simply dropped solo.

This time you excluding players based on there factions even if they posses the mechs to participate.

You have my $$ already no real need to keep me happy I guess and yes I will be equally annoyed when and If you pull this crap with the resistance packs if you take the same myopic approach to that that you have demonstrated here with your exclusion of paying members in a free to play game.

Invasion mech owners get the chance for an extra 3mil cbils 300mc a warhorn a hanging item plus more.
Both founders and pheonix events had personal challenges also but only gave the mech owners a chance at a shot on the leaderboard that had f all dividends that only the top players could achieve.
ALL Invasion mech owners can easily achieve the full compliment of rewards for this. Its BS and its just another slap in the face for IS players.

The Invasion players shelled out 50% more money per mech than we did though. And the clans continue to have to arbitrarily pay more for warhorns, camo, etc than the IS. The mechs costing more makes sense, but why are the warhorns so much more?

Plus, they need to incentivise the hell out of the Clans right now. CW is in shambles. Hoepfully this will bring aome balance back into it.

Besides, you KNOW that an identical event will come out next weekend for the IS. Probably containing Resistance, Phoenix, Urbanmech, and Founder's programs.

Just paying twice for breaking contracts seems off regarding the little reward one might get.
Same IS Phoenix purchasers got a maximum of 4 medalions, Clan Invasion purchasers now get a meager 1 with less bonus and only if they perform for it.

IS queues will be insta-drop vs 40 minute wait times for clan teams on happy ghost drops...

not really well though of this event PGI...

How much anyone paid is beside the point, thats a per player CHOICE for a F2P game. And as a F2P game all events should consider ALL players equally and not give players who pay more or less any particular bonus over those who choose not to or simply CANNOT part with extra cash. THIS is not P2W and most of all not P2P. Its outrageous for a company to play this card then all of a sudden (well at all) say 'oh those guys paide more then the rest of you so they deserve more...' ******* that, I just dropped another $105 Australian dollars on this game YESTERDAY for the resistance2 pack and now Im expected to be happy about this.

BS, Ive been part of this franchise longer then most and as long as the loyalest so this is a HUGE slap in the face, I play everyday, I am not a weekend warrior, but there is only so much intolerance for non clan players that I can put up with, and seeing CW failing after SOOOOOOO much hype. Its been 3 years almost!!!

And that's not a good thing as it presents more challenge items that are impossible to fulfill (more red crosses for everyone) unless you break contracts once more.

This segregates the community and I don't think it is a good idea for CW in general.

Only a grind if you brought 1 invasion mech. It can be over in 13 matches by using 4 Invasion mech per drop.

Seriously? Overreaction like so many others.

They will do something like this for Resistance owners as well, this one just happens to be for people who spent money on Clan mechs.

Too often people complain about PGI not showing appreciation to those who have spent money on this game. This, like the past two weekend events, is focused on a a particular pack or set of packs. If you didn't buy the pack, then you don't get to do the extra challenges. On the one hand its an effort to reward those who bought clan packs. On the other hand, seriously? Look at the rewards.. they are kind of nice but nothing to get all aupset about missing out on, especially when you will get a similar event with the resistance pack.

Would it have been cool if they had combined the two? Yeah it would have, but they were also trying to encourage more Clan population. I gotta say, I would rather they wait until Resistance 2 drops for something like that so we have more than 4 mechs to choose from.

I'm a bit disappointed, I'd love to participate in this event to get some goodies, but I do not own any clan mechs until Wave III hits on June 16th. I've only been playing the game for not quite two months(Even though I'm a Founder, I played a week at launch and didn't play for past three years.) Is there anyway possible to somehow get credit since I will own clan mechs a month from now, considering I don't have the fund to buy any eligible mechs for the event.

You can use clan trial mechs, and.. well.. good luck!

This post above is epic fail. Really just made me cringe to read that. So much whining because people that spent money get the opportunity to earn some ingame goodies like CB etc. That kind of stuff comes with spending money on the game all the time, its the reason people spend money in the first place.

I myself did not buy any packs, spent only a few MC on mech bays initially. Now I am not spending anything anymore. For one because of the reason stated in my signature. But also because I get free MC or mech bays with these kind of events all the time. So these events are great, even essential, for free loaders like me. Yet you are here complaining that we dont get enough. It is just ridiculous.

Copied from event page.Underlined and bold the important parts. Looks a lot like the last 2 events. :

This Event is comprised of three distinct Challenges:
•Personal Challenge: all players are eligible for this Challenge

•Invasion Challenge: Prime (I) Variant and Gold (G) 'Mech Variant owners are eligible for this Challenge

•Clan Invasion Planetary Takeover Challenge: Clan-aligned players who reach the top-tier of the Personal Challenge are eligible for this Challenge

Solo and Group drops both count toward these Challenges.
Personal Challenge

Anyone can participate in this Personal Challenge, and there are no 'Mech restrictions!

Simply earn a minimum Match Score of 80 in Community Warfare Invasion or Counter Attack matches to earn 1 Personal Challenge Point.

Rack up enough Personal Challenge Points to unlock the following prizes:
•3 points = 3 Days Premium Time (activated upon redemption)

•6 points = 1000 GXP

•9 points = 2,000,000 C-bills

•12 points = 300 MC

Even you poor loyalists have a chance to participate. Or you can just keep crying how PGI is being mean to you.

How the hell is that pay to win? Seriously? Do you people even know what the terms you sling around MEAN?

It's a bonus for having paid.

Pay to win, is having double heatsinks locked behind a paywall.

There are NO aspects of P2W in this game right now. And there have been NO events that are P2W.

Just because it doesn't cater to YOU doesn't mean it's not fair. Just because there is an event or bonus given to people who have spent money doesn't make it pay to win. At worst, you could call it pay to participate.... Like EVERYTHING else in the world.

Quick question, maybe it was addressed already but...

Why is this event shorter in time available vs the Founders and Phoenix events?

Is it just me or doesn't the ending time say Tuesday?
(Btw don't forget it's a holiday weekend in the US, it should mean a little more free time then normal I'd think)

I have to say, this is a horrible event and a horrible precedent.

You have an event that will tear teams apart (IS loyalists vs folks who purchased the clan packs), yet works best with teamwork (CW). You have an event that excludes folks if they aren't in the right faction as well (Clans only get the the loyalty pin for the conquest challenge). It's one thing to offer bonuses for paying members (they paid, I don't see a problem with it), but you're excluding folks who paid already by requiring they be part of a particular faction, and excluding normal folks for the same criteria as well.

As the leader of an IS loyal unit, I can't break the contract and shift over to the clans for members who paid (Seriously, I don't think I have 60,000,000+ in the unit coffers), so I'm stuck as a unit and on a personal level. Even if we could, I have players who expect to stay IS, and have no clan mechs, so shifting over to clans excludes them from the event, or may simply have them leave.

I'm not going to leave some thread to leave the game or boycot this weekend. That would ring hollow, and honestly, I'm busy most of the weekend anyway, and because of the late start today, I likely can't finish the even even if I wanted to, so it's hardly a point. And PGI already has my money, and that won't solve anything here. But I think this event is poorly designed and balanced, and while I get what they wanted to do, This is possibly the most ill conceived event PGI has even run, and I hope this isn't a sign of things to come.

What if i purchased all Clan Invasion I & II mechs including a Gold mech, but i also purchased all Resistance I & II IS mechs. Currently playing as an IS soldier on permanent contract, because my friends do. I have to break contract & pay a fee to be eligible for the Clan side of the tournament and i have spent and have just as much right as any current Clan player to those rewards i would think. Then i have to come back to the IS side and rejoin my group. That is clearly annoying some people who are currently IS players but with Clan mech packs..... at this point allowing each account to have one IS and one Clan pilot if they wished may have been a welcome choice, but we dont have that choice.

Anyway i have decided to stay IS, rather than temporarily go Clans for the tournament.

So not the point.

If you had purchased Resistance I & II but were playing as a Clan pilot because you purchased Invasion II only and were playing with friends who didnt want to play IS and were told you couldn't get a special reward other Resistance owners who were IS palyers could, how would you feel? Not great yeah!.

I can see what they intended with the tournament & it is a nice try, but PGI clearly didnt see some of the obstacles and negative reactions they would get from owners of both IS & Clan packs, but who are IS loyalists would have.
