I am assuming it is obviously mechcommander-like game.
Replace this view from Mech Commander 2:

Add appropiate UI to this and you are in Mechcommander territory, with spectator mode viewpoint game. Based on MWO mechs and tweaks on the engine.

(sorry for not-so-good snap, took it quikcly from Davion blues vid)
I always thought looking tournament pics, that this would make an excellent game in itself.
Anyways, assuming it is going to be Battletech in a way or another with Harebrained Schemes... what good can come out of it?
Possible benefits?
- We might get to benefit AI implementation HBS will need to create to make this sort of an game. If PGI can cook up a good deal with them, trade engine and models for their game for stuff (AI, vehicle models, maps...)
- The original brains involved in Btech are ever closer to MWO creative minds.
- Maybe a path to get new players involved in MWO, they play through their campaing and are revarded in the end one or more of the mechs they created in the PVE campaing, only they get to pilot it in first person. Awesome.
- They may need to bring up the graphical quality and they will have deeper pool of artists to work on this.
Possible downsides?
- They might need to develop stuff to engine to enable the other game to work better and if the other game should not make it out of the oven, it might be wasted devlopment time
- Big egos might collide
What do you think? What good can come of it?
