Well we DID have MWLL....
and...honestly it Pooped on MWO....but PGI killed it...
we STILL have MW:LL, low on activity, but still there - i go to play it whenever MWO drives me up the wall or i simply need the gameplay depth i lack here, despite the low playerbase

By what measure?

Anyway, I ask this because after witnessing quite a number of whiny posters complaining about how "PGI is a sham" and "we should bankrupt them" etc,etc after the recent nerfs,
Where have people said these specific things, or are you just making **** up for the sake of sensationalism?

They've made money from it. They've clearly tried hard and made an effort in some areas. They've also cut corners and are weak on certain elements. No better nor worse than most other game development companies that I could name.

Plenty of companies are capable of making a game in a first person shooter oriented engine, with online elements. Of course it would not be exactly the same game. A mechwarrior type game does not necessarily have to be "niche".

It could be said that PGI milk us via their mech pricing stucture in exchange for the otherwise minimal effort that seems to go in at times. They aren't terrible, but they are hardly saints.

No it would not. It would be far more manga, there would be healing elements and other BS that is absent from Battletech as well.
Because we all know that physics allows for streams of 'electron healing' to repair damaged metal.

I think PGI is going the genre justice. The artwork is spot on. Whether MWO is the game we all hoped it would be, that's up to each of us individually.
MWO is a FPS, I was hoping for RPG.
HBS is a RTS, I'm still hoping for RPG.
I truly don't think I will get the game I've been wanting until something like Star Citizen in Battletech skin comes along.

That's not even what I'd be concerned about.
Blizzard is famous for streamlining the living crap out of everything they touch. They'd get rid of so much stuff they perceive as "overly complicated" or "convoluted" or "not user friendly enough" you'd get a game that barely resembles any MechWarrior game to date.
Wanna know who might do a good MW/BT game? CD Project Red.
