Let's say a player gets himself a Wrath pack.

His Wrath pack comes with six Faction Packs.

The Resistance page tells us each Faction Pack includes:

• Faction Warhorn
  
• Faction Hanging Item
  
• Faction Standing Item
  
• Faction Paint #1
  
• Faction Paint #2
  
• Faction Paint #3

(I know each faction names specific colors, but I'm trying to be generic, here).

And that the exact content of these packs will be revealed Dec 16th. I'm assuming that's more showing us what the Warhorns and cockpit items will look like.

I've got a minor issue with how that appears to shake out. It looks like we'll get to pick Faction Packs. If I can't pick multiples of the same faction, I'm going to have several factions worth of content I don't really care for. If I can pick multiples of the same faction, I'm going to be getting duplicates of up to 15 colors of paint.

Regardless of which method is used, it looks like there's a pretty good chance a given player will end up with either a whole lot of junk he doesn't want (factions he doesn't follow) or giving up a whole bunch of expensive paint so he can keep cockpit items he likes.

So, suggestion: De-link the paints from the Cockpit items; let us select however many Faction Paint bundles our purchase entitles us to, and choose Faction Cockpit Items seperately, allowing for multiples of the same faction.

(I mean, really, if you're a die-hard IS House pilot, what are you going to do with 15 cockpit items from factions you'll never play?)

I'll have to find the source (probably twitter), but Russ said you can choose multiples of the same faction for the faction packs.

Personally I would love for faction preorder items from both Phoenix and Resistance to be able to be turned in for Anti-Items related to that faction. Got a Davion Medallion you don't want or won't use? Convert it into this No Davion or Kill Davion Medallion.

Just like we could do with the faction LP-medals from the Phoenix pack.

You want the free paints, you gotta take the other free stuff to go along with them.

You want multiples of the same items to put in different 'Mechs, you lose out on the extra free paints.

This is meant to be a choice, not a "get free everything" type of deal.

I'm still getting all the faction packs because "PAINT, GLORIOUS ÜBER-EXPENSIVE PAINT!"

Paint is paint brochevski, it doesn't matter where it comes from...

So we're given the choice of a bunch of faction cockpit items and losing lots and lots of paint colors, or a bunch of paint colors and a bunch of useless cockpit items?

There might be a few players out there who want IS items from all the factions, but I'll be there aren't many. However, more colors is always good.

It seems it might be better to de-couple the items and paints, or perhaps offer a small consolation item if you duplicate paint colors. That would make me a happier customer than telling me I've got to make a choice between stuff I won't use and stuff I can't have.

Yeah I was thinking about this myself with the Clan Wave 2 mechs. I am Clan Wolf so if the Warhorns for example all have a faction logo in the center of them and either Howl, Roar, Screetch or scream like their respective animals then I will have 3 out of 4 warhorns that don't really fit my theme. At the same time I don't want to lose the extras colors and camos patterns by choosing 4 of the same packs to get the correct warhorns I need.

Honestly, I just wish they would let us pick and chose what we want. I will take 4 generic warhorns without the logos (or at least 4 with the Wolf logo), All the colors and camos and 4 Clan Wolf Medallions for each of my 4 CW mechs.

The real trick is the special camo patterns (if there will be any) only apply to the mechs from that package so I am really hoping they don't do the same thing with the paints. I'll probably wait to select my packages until I see the results posted from other users.

I do whole-heartedly agree with the OP though, I would love to be able to get all the shiny new paints and then have 6 copies of the Steiner cockpit items.

As for the faction choices, I am 100% picking all factions so I can use those colors.

There is nothing better than coloring your Gargoyle... or any mech... Jade Falcon Lime with a solid pattern and making everyone shield their eyes from the glow on Mining Collective. Glowgoyle, to the rescue!

It's been pretty vague ~ and I'm certain I've just missed something ~ but... when is the stuff in the pack to be released? With the first mech in February? Or in the New Year? Or...?

I think, that if you get the Wrath pack, you should get all the paints - period - and then get to choose six different factions, or just one faction six times (or some combo)... and for those with less... yes... select factions for paint, then select factions for items.

We do PAY for these after all... this isn't "free items".

Wouldn't worry about it man. the clanners were able to stack there choices so I would be willing to bet we will be able to as well.

Which will mean the crazy duplication will only be in regards to the paint colors.

I know it sucks, but at least you will have faction cockpit items for all your mechs!

Paints are 1 time unlocks, so yes choosing the same faction means you'll only get 1 set of colors. However you'll get the multiple cockpit items.

In contrasts choosing all the faction packs will net you every color available and 1 set of each cockpit items.

I would personally just choose each faction pack for the variety of colors as its the best value.

Keep in mind, the faction packs are 'bonus' content and are not reflected in the price of your purchase, you're getting free stuff.
