Most of my PuG matches are enjoyable. People listened and worked together...all it took was to use voice comms to rally them together. People would try...and that's I'd ask.
But with school out, and perhaps even more so with the event, it's like people just don't try.

Rare occasions happen in both ways, where everyone deals at least 200 damage, but no one breaks 400. A rare, magical occurrence.
And then there are the matches where 10 people fail to get 200...just abysmal.

Which exploits, exactly?
The ones which kill you?

Losing isn't an issue for me...provided it was a hard fought lose. I don't mind carrying if it's my role that match, I accept I can't always carry to a win if that's what's needed...but damn it men, at least go down trying, not slobbering and blundering.

It's definitely better (IMO) in a light that can zip around at 152Kph to shore up spots the line is failing, defend assaults from other lights, and generally cause havoc to the enemy team when they are engaged. The heavier the mech i drive, the less fun I have in PUG queues, it seems.

Kind of like disconnects: You'd think a disconnect would screw your team, but it's just as likely the opposing team has a player that's so horrible, he'd have contributed more as a disconnect. You just buckle down, do your best, and work with your pugmates as well as they'll allow.
Success in the solo queue is absolutely acheiveable, it just requires a different mindset.

I've been in drops where a player used in the in-game VOIP to give the whole team focus and direction.
I was also in a drop this afternoon where a guy was berating his teammates over comms and generally sounding very irritated. It was weird because we ended up winning that game, and when I saw the end-of-match screen, most players cleared 300 damage, with only 2 or 3 who failed to get to 300, which might have been a wrong decision or bad luck. But the strange thing was he kept calling everyone cowards, despite that from my POV it seemed like everyone was on the line and fighting. That kind of attitude won't endear anyone to someone, it's just not constructive. Berating teammates might be cathartic but it's not gonna help.
I'm reminded of someone who talked about being in training for special forces. He initially imagined that the instructors would be absolutely mean and angry all the time. It was actually quite the opposite. They didn't waste time yelling at the trainees, instead they spent all the time teaching, teaching, and teaching some more. An instructor was just as likely to laugh at a recruit's mistake, or just quietly say, "if this was real, you'd be dead," and then walk away. The instructors weren't tightly-wound with short fuses. They had a certain relaxed alertness to them.
Hollywood gives a lot of young men the impression that to be a leader you gotta be loud and yell a lot or something.

Me? I've been having decent experience in the solo queue for this event so far. Stomps here and there along with some tight games here and there. Same as usual.
Granted, I seem to be in a higher elo bracket (regularly see players from good units) and so I see competent play from most players most of the time.

You haven't seen me play...
I support and escort our Assault/Heavies, I drop UAVs, I'll move to hold rear-guard and cover people's retreats when they are in a pinch so they can run out with their backs turned to the enemy...and I'm usually a medium.
I communicate threats, strategies, I run to people who call for help, I watch the back side when everyone else is looking at the obvious threat.
I'm the dude you wish was on your team.
