Concept - You provide unused mechs as war assets to adjacent worlds on the borders that are not contracted by the faction you are aligned with. These assets will fight 'ghost battles' with other assets, when you participate real CW match your victory or defeat will affect the outcome of the war assets battle. If you do not participate but your faction that is contesting worlds their victory or defeat will also affect the outcome.

Details - you can only provide 8 unused mechs to be war assets, 4 offense 4 defense and must be configured to minimum standards they will be locked on the planet for the duration of the attack phase but still usable in normal matchmaking. The weapons you equip them with has no effect in gaining advantage, there is the same standard tonnage drop deck currently used in CW and which faction you are with. Choose 2 worlds that is not contracted along the borders of the territory lines, 1 controlled by adjacent faction 1 controlled in your territory.

Once deployed there is a progression bar split 50/50, this bar will be affected by the victories and defeats during the attack phase of CW.

Example worlds biased to Clan, house Steiner controlled world Barcelona and Jade Falcon controlled world Bone-Norman, 4 mechs sent to Barcelona for offense and 4 left to defend Bone-Norman. Same is done for a Steiner faction player.

Jade Falcon player participate in CW invasion match outcome win in defense or hold territory match outcome win, on Barcelona the progression is in favor of Jade Falcon on Bone-Norman the same, now Steiner faction player participated in a different CW invasion match and lost same in defense or hold territory, Barcelona progression bar is in favor of Jade Falcon and same on Bone-Norman.

After 10 battles, 5 invasion 5 defense or hold territory
JF 50% Barcelona 50% Bone-Norman / S 50% Barcelona 50% Bone-Norman

JF I- Win D- Win
S I- Lost D- Lost

result JF 70 Barcelona 70 Bone-Norman / S 30 Barcelona 30 Bone-Norman

JF I- Lost D- Win
S I- Win D- Lost

result JF 70 Bar 70 Bone / S 30 Bar 30 Bone

JF I- Lost D- Lost
S I- Win D - Lost

result JF 70 Bar 60 Bone / S 30 Bar 40 Bone

JF I- Win D- Win
S I-Lost D- Lost

result JF 80 Bar 70 Bone / S 20 Bar 30 Bone

JF I- Win D-Win
S I-Lost D- Lost

result JF 90 Bar 80 Bone / S 10 Bar 20 Bone

Overall result Jade Falcon War Assets gained 90% of Barcelona and providing strong defense in Bone-Norman by controlling 80% of it.

Thats just on a small scale, if there were more assets by Jade Falcon and/or clans on Barcelona it could have been taken after the attack phase with ratio adjustments, it must be 100% taken for it to be valid.

The more assets on the not contracted planets the easier it will be taken, if Barcelona was 90% taken by end of attack phase.

Next attack phase comes around and a actual pre made Steiner Unit want to defend it then it default to normal actual CW match capture method and saving Barcelona being taken after the next attack phase same goes for Bone-Norman if a premade unit attacks the planet it will default to normal CW match rules.

Any faction can supply war assets to any faction of the respective prime faction, example Kurita war assets in Steiner worlds to defend it.

You don't have to be actively participate in CW matches to progress the war assets, any CW battles won or loss of your respective prime faction ie Clan or IS affects the progress bar.

Summary - adding war assets and 'ghost' battles can make CW interesting rather the bottleneck snatch and grab restricted to contracted planets. The more war assets on a not contracted planet easier its gonna be captured, if actual premade unit want to defend they can save it. This allows any uncontracted planet be attacked and spread the premades all over the place, it shouldn't be restricted what is contracted to be attacked seems so mercenary style assignments.
