Each Faction has specific mechs that are dominant. Why not give a small Loyalty boost if you are loyal to a faction and use the mechs associated with that faction?

Ie.
Davion : Enforcer, Jagermech or Victor or "D" designation mechs
Steiner: Zeus, Banshee or "S" designation mechs
Liao: Urbie, Vindicator, Or "L" designation mechs
Draconis Combine: Panther Jenner, Dragon, or "K" designation mechs
Marik: Thunderbolt, or "M" designation mechs
FRR: Ostsol, Ostroc (Yes I'm going there)

Jade Falcon: Summoner, Shadow Cat
Wolf: Timberwolf, Gargoyle
Smoke Jaguar: Direwolf, Cauldron-Born
Ghost Bear: Mad Dog, Executioner

I'm not talking a huge bonus. Just enough to give players a boost in either Loyalty points, XP or cred for "being in character" We can even go so far as to say that there are more parts readily available, techs are proficient in fixing/repairing/maintaining such designs, to (eventually) give discounts on repair/rearm bills.

i dunno. we have alrdy clan vs IS....

so strictly force people to use 1-2 mechs... (for best loy. points ofc.) isnt the right thing imho,

Id rather to see, bonused perma-contracts.

I don't see where this would be "forcing" people to use any mech. If you read the suggested examples there are several faction specific mechs and several variants of every common mech that are used by each faction.

This feature merely rewards players who want to be faction specific and at least give some frame work for immersion.

A small bonus for using mechs which the fraction is know for would be pretty cool and add some flavor to community warfare. The Bonus could be as small as 1%, small enough that it's easy to ignore without real consequence but enough to give you a in game reason to pick a mech that matches the Fluff of your Faction.

Also, it would mean there is a real difference between the factions other than just who their neighbors are in a way that wouldn't be unbalancing.

Some mechs would overlap and have the bonus for more than one faction just like the Faction themed sales. The lists for that were pretty large, for instance Kurita would include:

Light 'Mechs
Firestarter FS9-H
Jenner JR7-D
Jenner JR7-F
Jenner JR7-K
Locust LCT-1E
Locust LCT-1V
Spider SDR-5K
Spider SDR-5V

Medium 'Mechs
Centurion CN9-A
Cicada CDA-2A
Cicada CDA-2B
Cicada CDA-3C
Griffin GRF-1N
Griffin GRF-3M
Hunchback HBK-4SP
Hunchback HBK-4P
Hunchback HBK-4J
Hunchback HBK-4H
Hunchback HBK-4G
Kintaro KTO-18
Kintaro KTO-20
Shadow Hawk SHD-2H
Shadow Hawk SHD-2K
Trebuchet TBT-5N
Trebuchet TBT-7K
Trebuchet TBT-7M
Wolverine WVR-6K
Wolverine WVR-6R
Wolverine WVR-7K

Heavy 'Mechs
Catapult CPLT-C1
Catapult CPLT-K2
Dragon DRG-1C
Dragon DRG-1N
Dragon DRG-5N
JagerMech JM6-DD
JagerMech JM6-S
Orion ON1-K
Quickdraw QKD-4G
Quickdraw QKD-4H
Quickdraw QKD-5K
Thunderbolt TDR-5S
Thunderbolt TDR-9S

Assault 'Mechs
Atlas AS7-D
Atlas AS7-K
Awesome AWS-8Q
Awesome AWS-8R
Awesome AWS-8T
Awesome AWS-8V
Awesome AWS-9M
Banshee BNC-3E
BattleMaster BLR-1G
BattleMaster BLR-3M
Stalker STK-3F
Stalker STK-3H
Stalker STK-4N
Stalker STK-5M
Victor VTR-9K

And that doesn't even include the mechs that have been released since like the Panther.

Alternatively it would be cool to see a c-bill discount to buying mechs produced by a fraction if you hold a certain rank or higher with that faction.

It'd be cool if for every weight class, a faction's top 3 most used mechs would give the bonus. Maybe the most used mech would give a larger bonus, while the other 2 slightly smaller ones. Like 5% for the most popular and 3% for 2nd and 3rd place. So, if, for example, you have 4 mechs that are #1 in the faction, you'd have a total of 20% extra points.

Why only the top 3? Did you see the list of over 20 mech choices in just the Medium weight class that PGI has already basically said 'yeah these mechs are used by that faction." Every IS faction had comparable lists of mechs that went on sale for the Faction based Sales events. The smallest groupings had around 8 in a weight class.

20% I WISH.... not even close.... You don't get the way they do community warfare loyalty bonuses. Take the Phoenix Medallions for instance to get 5% you need to have one in ALL FOUR of your CW mechs. The way they calculate the bonus is they take the total loyalty points earned and divide that by four, and then for each mech that gives a bonus you times that 1/4th of your total loyalty point gain by the bonus amount. So a 5% loyalty bonus on one mech is actually worth 1.25% extra loyalty points per match.

Bonus c-bills are split this same way, unless you bring 3 Hero Mechs you don't get a full 30% in CW

I could see how a favored Mech could benefit.
