Took advantage of the sale today and got myself a Mad Dog B, haven't taken it out yet but the PPC runs quite a bit hotter than I prefer, so I've considered swapping it for another LB-5X and dropping two SRM6 to free up to tonnage for it. Here's what I'm considering

MDD-A

That said, apparently Clan autocannons get a lot of hate, and having played a build like this with the trial Gargoyles I'm not sure it'll be that effective either, so I may opt instead for lasers of some description in the arms.

Thoughts??

Why not something with lazors? You'll have a better brawler with high DPS, but watch for the heat!!

;)

You can put more armor on this one too...

two uac-5... i would better consider something like this http://mwo.smurfy-ne...91ac66a36bf8258

6 srm-6, uac-10, almost full armor except some armor shaved off from the head and the empty arm
you can use 4 srm-6 2 srm-4 or to shave some more armor from legs etc if 5 tons of srm and 3 tons of uac-10 is too little (it's kind of on the lower side imo)

The thing you have to do on this chassis is full armor.

Full armor anytime!!

This is my favorite build, but it's very different in playstyle :

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...b208d53b6a65f5b

3xSPL + 2xML + 3xSSRM6 + BAP

The pin point damages are in the lazors, the streaks and BAP for the lights and wounded assault : arms and legs are getting off very quick with the streaks ;)

Standard SRMs are very powerfull, but they need better skills and to know the different weaknesses of each chassis to use them well.

Definitely max the armor everywhere on a Mad Dog, except for empty arms. Here's a fun build that similar to your original build, if you are good at using a shield side. If you're not, them just put the SRM's on the opposite torso as the LBX-20.

This is the build I use on my MDD-Prime

MDD-PRIME

my average in this mech is 600+ dmg and 2+ kills, alot of matches are in the 900+ range.

this is my favorite mech in my hangar right now, playing it constantly

Your average damage is more than likely not 600. Go to your profile->stats->Mechs and then divide your total damage by the matches you played.

*Hint: Getting roflstomped and dealing 0 damage counts towards your average as well.

Plus you might check if you got enough drops in that mech, the stats start getting realistical at around 200 drops, anything before that is just pretty much random. (Otherwise I could say my average KD/R in my Cent-AH is 9.00 . I only dropped 4 times, but hey.)

that sounds more about realistical, at 600+ on average in a MDD I'd have to build an altar for you. :D

Still fairly high, I'm way to impatient for MadDogs, I guess :(

it really does take a lot of setup and waiting

without lasers to poke on that build, the first half of the match is usually waiting and positioning

and a lot of hit and run, never staying in the same spot helps, it honestly doesn't play like a heavy.

I look forward to seeing you on the field with that build, op, you will struggle to kill anything with that.

The srm6's need artemis to be useful, and 2 lbx 5's for backup is a joke, try 6 srm 4's if ur not gonna use artemis, and back them up with lasers for gods sake.
