I can't seem to find an explanation of why the Clans are attacking Terra on the MWO website. Is it because PGI makes its home there? Are we looking for the secret ComStar recipe for Space Bacon?

Is there anyplace on the MWO website with this lore?

It's lore. The short version is they believe that the clan who takes Terra is the best Clan. If you'd like to know more head out sarna.net. It's a really good place to do some battletech/mechwarrior research.

A good point. Sadly, no I have not seen MWO include much in the way of lore in the game. Don't get me wrong, I love the CW map, but I've been using Sarna for Battletech campaign info for years, so I don't need the snippets and blurbs. I know it would help some folk.

Holy Terra, if you will. Is the seat of mankind. It stood as the core of the human race. Not to mention the seat of power of the Terran Hegemony, to whom the Star League Defense Force pledged allegiance. The clans are that very same force. They left the Inner Sphere because they feared if they stayed, they would be used as political tools, and would pretty much explode the whole of human civilization to the stone age. Turns out, we did a pretty bang up impression of that on our own anyways.

For the clans, everything that has to do with their origins is sacred to the extreme. Even the iconography of the old SLDF is sacred. So Terra is MOST SACRED. The clan that can seize humanity's home would be considered the best clan, and all others would bow before it.

Not to mention that Terra also holds the center of all interstellar communication in the Inner Sphere. So whoever controls Terra, controls the Inner Sphere, to borrow from another beloved sci-fi franchise.

btw, shouldn't pgi make an event where clans who took terra would decide who is the best one

wolves were the best during tukkayid... but other ones can proclaim a trial of grievance

So will there be an il-Clan if one of us reaches Terra first? How do we determine one now if Tukkayid was the proxy battle?

Map has been reset, Tukkayid hasn't happened. #itsbeta
