I have all the invasion mechs all 12 of them, yet I am barred from 2/3rds of the even because my unit is Steiner. The IS has no way of gaining extra rewards from the event so most pilots have jumped to clan. For this event to be balanced their should be a reward for IS mechs based on how many clan mechs they kill. Or maybe the event should not be in CW.

Yeah, this is one of the results of the system they've chosen. Next week, when they do the IS Resistance event (because obviously) the same will happen to me. I've got about 80 IS mechs I love, lots of R mechs, but it won't matter, as my unit is clan.
This event and the next should apply in the regular queues too, so they aren't faction limited.
I'm OK with mech limits (the extra event portion is rewarding players who bought those packs) but it sucks to have bought them but being unable to use them in the event.

Another part is if we are merc units why is it that our tech base is limited to our faction. If we are suppose to be mercs then we bring what ever mechs we have to the fight, and if we captured a clan mech or as in my case (which my sig states) came with them shouldn't we be allowed to use them. Heck I love my drop deck even if I could put clan mechs in it as IS I would still keep my commando, griffin, and wolverine, and switch my crab for a dire.

Yeah, I made all these arguments and more when they were adding CW, but people REALLY wanted pure IS vs. pure Clan... Now, I'll fully admit, I'm not a lore hound at all, and my objection was based pretty much entirely on having well over a hundred mechs of both factions, and love to use both. I hate (now, and then) how it's my choice of unit which determines which of my mechs I can use. I was running with an IS unit before CW, but had just bought my Clan Packs and really wanted to be using those new shiny mechs. So, to the Clan side I went. Now I'm all Clans, but really miss using my IS mechs.
But... I accepted I was in the minority. *shrugs* What can be done?
I just wish they followed the old Launch Party design a little more, and had Mercs as being a mixed faction fighting for assorted other factions.
It is what it is now, though.

Well they are allowing some mix tech base, as the DWF-W was solely produced by Wolf Dragoons in the IS and used by the IS against the Clans. The clans had no knowledge of that variant until it was seen in field. Yet somehow they can drop it against the IS people.

Can't even F'n go solo so that I can try to complete this F'd up event. Damn it PGI if you do a resistance event you better screw the clans over and make sure that everyone who changed over to them is screwed over. I hate leaving events undone and this event is really irking my completionist OCD.
