The idea is basic but takes some explaining so here goes:-
Let the public queue have an impact on CW planets but with lesser rewards for aligned players and even lesser for unaligned players , but their points will all be put into a faction once they choose one.( for the unaligned players).
The game mode would start on any map but would roll across different temperate zones, each team has a base or omega type objective to destroy and protect. (It would possibly require a high amount of HP and only be able to be shot at through a window to prevent ranged attacks and LRM attack).
But it would work on a push /pull basis with the possibility of moving backwards and forwards till conclusion. (So the start map is the centre with the ability to move towards or away from your ultimate goal)
Each team is a part of a larger battlefront that takes all battles into consideration.
The queue pool can put factions together that are allowable , so matches that are permissible are :- Clan vs Clan, IS vs IS , Clan vs IS. Obviously a win helps with the winning factions attempt to gain control of a planet in CW, i.e. Clan vs IS , IS win helps the IS against that clans IS target planet.
The maps used can all be existing ones with the omega objectives added, with a map progression after a certain number of wins for any given faction. When any faction reaches the final map then a rest is hit. Any non-active players would be kicked automatically and replacement pilots found at the end of each battle. If players wish to change mechs they would have to leave and re-join a new group. The mode would roll over with both groups with replacements found as people left the game , but it would remain at whichever stage it had progressed to.
Just an idea of how to implement a public CW experience without such long wait times potentially as the main CW section. And it would not require much work on the maps , just the implementation of a queue system that could adjust to players not playing or leaving games.
