Where is it? There was so much crying about the Hellbringer being a heavy with ECM, what about a Clan Assault with ECM?

IS players complained they didnt have a heavy with ECM and then they got one

So it only seems fair.

It doesnt have to be a powercreep issue if its on a weaker assault

In all fairness, the IS has an ECM assault, we should give the clans at least one with ECM.


EDIT: The Night Gyr is a possible one 3052 so era appropriate, and the H variant could be slapped in for the ECM. scratch that, it's a heavy. The DWF C could do it though. Executioner I is another one. Possible Gargoyle hero (Conal) is also ECM capable. The Imp is another one, but it's 3050. Kingfisher has 2 ECM variants.

So all of the listed, but the Imp are possible ECM assaults.

I know, let's give the Clans a special ECM Kraken variant! I can't see how that could ever possibly backfire, nope it'll be completely 100% fine guise.

I'm not sure you realize how much more ECM dependence has occurred lately (Hellbringers are nice Timberwolf alternatives, Clans eventually getting their Wave 3 ECM Medium Fix while the IS has 2 ECM capable mediums).

I'm not saying this is going to get better.

I gotta ask though, would you consider a DWF with ECM to be balanced with an Atlas D-DC?

An OmniMech more than any BattleMech should be able to throw on an ECM. It is literally part of the description of what make is Omni!

No.

But if Clan lasers got a much needed nerf, IS SRMs got a much needed buff, and the Atlas-D-DC got proper armor quirks it might at least be able to put up a good fight in brawling range.

ECM needs a nerf more than ever though. Especially now that half the mechs on each team have ECM.

Actually, Clan needs a Medium with ECM. IS already has the Cicada and the Griffin with ECM. We all know how vulnerable an Assault to Lights if caught alone. An ECM Medium can serve as stealth coverage and Light deterrent for the Assault lance, especially if it has a few missile hardpoints for Streaks.

I think before a Dire Wolf with ECM happens, ECM will be nerfed to the underground.
