You can 'view in mechlab' and customise mechs your dont own now too, right from the store.

So.. having things to buy in a store makes zero sense?

Isn't that what stores are? Places where you buy things?

Considering the store tab has been absolutly without purpose since launch?

Makes sense. Move a mechanic of the game that has been in the same spot since beta to a tab that 90% of users never click.

Store tab is worthless. Everything can be condensed into the home / mechlab screen. What is their obession with forcing clicks -.-

I don't know, you had to click a drop down menu to get to purchasable mechs before, so its really not adding a click.

A couple things have moved locations, and that can be frustrating sometimes because we are used to the old way, but objectively speaking I do not feel it is an inferior way to do it, and once we are accustomed to it, it will be business as usual.

A lot of the complaints I see are basically "Oh this is different, THIS IS TERRIBLE because I had to figure out the new way of doing it" Which isn't really fair, because two weeks from now it will be completely natural.

Haha

This was the only thing I was confused about when I was trying it out last night.

I finally thought to check the store like, "no way, why the hell would they put mechs there?"

Sure enough that's where they are ;)

I really wonder what a true new player thinks of the new mech lab. Specifically someone who has never used any prior mech labs.

The game is definitely a lot to figure out for a new player, but I'm sure any new player would figure out that the store is where you buy stuff lol

Yeah that's kind of what I was getting at. Those who are used to and comfortable with the old mech lab are conditioned to accept and work around it's backwards features... we're no longer qualified to look at the new mech lab with fresh eyes.

Honestly, any new player not familiar with Battletech is going to have a hard time customizing mechs. That is the nature of the game, it is based off of a table top game, and customizing mechs requires some knowledge of whats going on, few other games have complex customizations like the one in MechWarrior games. There is no getting away from that and it is not PGI's fault. They could (and should) release a mech customization tutorial for new players though, that would help a lot.

I did not find it either. The store tab to me implies stuff that you buy for RL money therefore I never thought about looking there.

Veeeeerrrryyy carefully!

I honestly thought this would be a post about Mech Packs and Gift Shop versus in-game purchases, lol.

I believe you purchase them now through the "Store" Tab. I don't think that's changed too much from the previous build.

This is what didn't make sense this whole time. Now that the Store tab is actually a Store, sense has been made.
