Sorry I can't find the exact quote and source for you but in a conversation between Russ and Bryan it went from "we're doing our very best but no guarantees" to "it's almost certain" in a few sentences.

Maybe someone with better search-fu can locate the convo.

Thank you! I will try to locate it myself for confirmation, but thanks to the info, come payday I will likely be upgrading to legendary.

I have purchased the elite package and am contemplating the legendary package, but I don't really want to drop another $60 without either confirmation of oceanic servers in the future or else beta access to see how bad the ping affects gameplay.

Last I saw (I've been overseas visiting relatives and stuff, havn't checked forums in a couple of weeks) they were looking into oceanic servers and hoping that it would be possible.

No news on new Servers yet...

However we will be given a chance to Move all of our Stuff to the New servers once they are available... but that could be months down the road no one knows yet

Meh I don't care when it happens, I just want to know -if- it is going to happen. Or to get in beta and put my fears to rest (or not, but hopefully it would).

Well, devs said they were working very hard on it. Don't know the time frame though.

If I were to bet I would put my money on "Only NA servers on Aug 7"

So there are confirmed going to be oceanic servers "eventually sometime in the future"?

Or they are just working on trying to see if they can be made.

Servers are the kind of thing that gets announced very shortly before launch because they'll be hunting around for deals and and figuring out what they can work.

Jesus...if I see another topic like this I'm going to rip my hair out. It's been stated NUMEROUS times that there will be Oceanic and EU servers later on if not at launch....

EDIT: And just so you know, both regular searching and use of the impromptu "dev tracker" both fail to produce a quote supporting this. Right now I am just trawling through post after post in the threads most likely to have such a discussion.

Sorry, but lack of oceanic servers with this server architecture in the more popular games using this type of server architecture (ie mmo/clustered type as opposed to individual localised servers) has made me extremely wary of potential ping delays, especially since all my attempts at playing overseas hosted f2p shooters have all been horrid.

Even with League of Legends, which I have spent some money on, it is very noticeable (but manageable; regardless there are a group of us campaigning for an oceanic server and in fact some representatives for the aussie community have said there has been heavy discussion about it with riot although nothing solid).

As for world of tanks (which is more comparable to MW than a standard shooter is), it is manageable but annoying - and when I made an account on their SEA server the delay reduction was amazing.

@BACON It's OK no need to go through excessive searching on my behalf, I'm happy to believe you unless I see info to the contrary :)

I'll be looking through to try to find those posts, but looks like come pay day I will upgrade to legendary.

Certainly is good to hear, no matter how long it takes.

This one was about the European server

No it wasn't. There was a question or thread discussing Aussie servers and one of them said that they'll be fighting for Aussie players to get servers up. The discussion continued between the devs and users on whether it was a sure thing and it was concluded that it almost certainly was by the devs.

Seriously guys, I'm an Aussie too, but there are already about ten threads on this subject and we don't need another one so you can ask 'So has anyone heard anything yet?' If anyone had heard anything it would be via an announcement in the Announcements forum. Or if you're worried you've come in late, tack a post onto an existing thread and give it a bump. Spamming the forum with new threads is counter-productive and rage inducing amongst the rest of the community.

To sum: the 'if' is more of a 'when.'
