So is there any way to get a specific pack for just a mech? It's kinda irritating that you have to drop 60$ to get the mech you want, with two other mechs that you're not really interested in coming with. I want to do early adoption, but I can't see the point when I'm also paying for two mechs I won't use.

Your only option for doing single Mechs is a la carte which doesn't get you any of the pre-order bonus items.
But you can buy at the lowest level to lock in most of the rewards and a la carte the one that you want and it's a little cheaper but you still miss out on some rewards.

If you only want one of the mechs it's $35 a la carte with no bonus stuff, depending on how much value you put into the bonus items, they can be worth much more than the price difference between the packs or vs a la carte. This pack for example has faction content that is up to 36 colors if you take the Mauler pack and select all 6 different factions, or 18 colors if you already did that for Resistance 1.

EDIT: you can also sell the non-resistance Variant mechs you don't use for C-Bills and it opens up a mech bay.
