TBH, it's less about the Resistance mechs, but the Resistance Variant involved.

Yeah, this. I love a lot of my resistance mechs, but the ® variants (for the ones I have at least) are awful.

Hi all, I am new to the game and got into it about 3 weeks ago. I bought the resistance pack and have pre-ordered the resistance 2 pack. So How do I participate and earn rewards. Do I just do my normal solo Q play whilst in a resistance mech? and do I need to be using the ® variant?
Cheers

Oh man...not a leaderboard again

- very unhealthy weekend (headache incoming)
- toxic gameplay
- fun is forbidden
- there is no end point (as soon as you take a break.. you'll loose your spot)
- it will make me leave MWO for a month to compensate for all the above mentioned effects. its a torture that will haunt you for a full month.

It's why I've stopped making any effort towards the vast majority of events. It's really quite liberating.

20 points for some free goodies. I'm kinda liking this format for the challenges... you can knock out a few matches at a time like a normal human being with a life outside MWO while still finishing by the end of the weekend. I mean, the quality of matches is still going to drop through the floor, but it'll never sink to the same depths as the kill+assist+win events have. The last couple of nearly identical pack-themed challenges have been refreshingly not horrible ****fests, so I have high hopes of getting through those points without screaming any obscenities at my poor computer monitor.

Forget the leaderboard bit, though. For one, I don't think I'm likely to score all that high; I just don't invest the sort of time in the game that I'd need to to reach that level of play, and I don't see any reason to change that. For two, ladders and leaderboards always seem to bring out the inner douche in players who'd otherwise be reasonably pleasant to hang out with, and... screw that noise. I'll get my 20 points for the goodiebag and bail.

Oh man, that's brilliant, can't Like enough. Now move aside, there's still room for another passenger to Hopper-town.

I don't bother with any leaderboards either, though I did participate in the Urbie event and managed to maintain a fairly high ranking for a while. I got burned out halfway through that one so I didn't finish anywhere near the leaderboards.
I probably won't be playing my resistance variants at all unless I happen to decide to grind out the Zeus and/or Grasshopper, right now I'm working on eliting the last of my clan mechs.

Just an additional bonus for taking out the Panther 10K ®! Cool.

I play in the event a, but just to get those personal challenge points. Its no efforts, as getting a 30 match score just means showing up.

The leaderboards, though? Oh, hell no. I did that once, maybe twice, and realized what a total mess that was requiring countless games to really compete. I don't have time for that; for me, 25 matches over a weekend is very heavy gaming time.

It was fun on the Founders weekend to see I cracked into the top 50 (rank 47) with the Catapult C1 (F). That was Friday night though, by the end I was like 300 or something lol. I basically played enough to earn the rewards, not enough to truly compete in a leaderboard.

I wouldn't mind if the leaderboards were altered in such a way to rank by who has the best average match points and just set a minimum number of matches needed to establish it. Maybe 10 or 15 match minimum.

Something a long those lines anyway.

If they can rack up enough kills in their Resistance [R] Variant 'Mechs during this Event, we will run a poll for them to determine which of the Resistance 1 'Mechs will be the first to receive a Champion Variant!

Players were thrilled that they actually let the Founders help decide the next map to be revamped. Everyone applauded PGI for letting the players be involved in important decisions.

And then... this.

Yeah, it's a nice enough event and all, but the voting objective seems somewhat underwhelming. I don't know how many Resistance packs have been sold, but I'm wondering if we can hit 65k kills.

I'm also not sure about the Warhorn - shouldn't that be the Comstar warhorn, or the new Resistance Warhorn? Or another hula girl?

Yea, like a few had said, it isn't the modt EXCITING thing to vote on. Still, it's something I suppose.

I'd vote Panther. If it was a 10K ( C ), I could have my favorite light Panther version for C-Bills and another for XP generation. Sounds good to me.

I am liking these events myself. They give some sort of incentive to play on top when I feel the urge plus they help give a little c-bill boost, and that is a good thing.

I look forward to the days when CW is more worked upon and then playing events for that. I really wanted to play the clan invasion event we just had, but I had other things to do. A shame, the payouts looked good.

Use any mech for the personal rewards and use the R mech for the leader board(and its few rewards). Just a warning to get in the top you will have to play every day of the event.

The resisance mechs are some of the worst mechs i own.

I don't know if I'd go that far.

They're just kind of mediocre, nothing about them stands out and none of them really do anything you can't do the same or better in a different mech.

Out of the entire pack I was pleasantly surprised by the Enforcer, which is mostly owed to it's amazing hitboxes/geometry.

There is not one that I can not average 800 ~ 900 DMG.

Then there is the opposite end of hyperbole here.

Yes, please show us your stats where you "average" 800-900 damage in these mechs.

I'll go out on a limb and guess you aren't completely sure what the word "average" means in this context.

Sometimes, when things get painful, I go play some bubble gum PvE game like SWTOR.

It's better for my liver than all of the rage and whiskey was doing.

Probably the resistance one, comstar are no nicer than the clans ;) but this thread did give Navid the opportunity to Copy and paste his dislike of leader boards from all the other threads about the event

At this point, we need a Redheaded Hula Girl over all that fawning in the Dev Vlog. There's so much drool in that thread... pretty sad.

You simply "just play". This is only a non-CW event, so you just play solo and group (no private lobbies) and you should be able to collect.

The Resistance mech is only important if you're doing the tourney part (not worth it) or helping everyone else hit that 65k Kill Counter for a future vote.

I agree they're not the worst mechs in the game just.the worst.that I own. I sold my junk mechs long ago. I use the grasshopper and ppc panther every so often . But there are mechs that do the same.thing with.better quirks and hard point locations.

It is all about the lasers and gauss combo on it. Either 2 LPL/ 2 ML or 3 LL/ 1 ML and Gauss.
