I won't be eligible for refunds on anything if I leave which is fine but I sure wont be investing further into this game.

I wonder if the problem was the Kickstarter-ish nature of the game. Developers have tried to go this way because it allows them to get money in the short term, but there's little incentive to produce a high quality game in the long term, because the high quality game used to be required to have a nice payoff.
