Even with doing well on damage, slower 'Mechs get less XP because they can't keep up and get group XP.

If you're mech is really that slow, you need to be playing a longer ranged build - and know map locations where you can bring that range to bear on the enemy.

It's harder with some assaults than others, so make sure those builds have some extra speed if possible.

The 30ish points of xp is not gonna make or break you, if it is such a factor premium time is about 2hrs at min wage in most US states.

Speed is the true meta of the game.

But yea... need more LRM 5 in your life.

OR!

Learn the maps so that when you DO show up, it's the right place at the right time, and you pop in when the enemy is ground down and you're fresh.

OR, OR!

Utilize the chat or VOIP to coordinate with your team. I.E. form murderball and lock speeds with the assaults.

Sure, no problem; I speak fluent crazy:

"I choose to drop in a slow assault, even though time after time I get left behind in the Nascar. Since I won't change my ways, I'm going to whine and moan until someone changes the way the game plays so I don't have to adapt".

Just make sure to ride on a mech that has 70kph speed or above.

I personally have very little issue with my Whale.

This isn't really a problem in CW, the group queue or high Elo brackets, since people tend to know they need all 12 players to have a shot at winning.

I'll just leave this here.

If you stay with the other slow Mechs (like the other assaults) you can clean up the group XP cause we don't waddle away fast.

You can make up for it with your raw firepower. You may be slow but you should be doing on average higher damage numbers then majority of the peeps in your drop.

This is part of why the heavy queue is so popular. They have enough firepower and armor to be effective while at the same time most heavies have significantly more mobility than assaults which lets them respond and get into the fight as the battle moves around.

Here's what I told the guy that dropped in and said "My top speed is only 37kph"

sycocys - "Good luck with that."
You don't need incredible speed, just need to be able to keep up with a Dire or Atlas at the minimum. That's roughly 50kph. If you drop below that you are taking it upon yourself to make your experience notably worse.

Daishi's seem to get hundreds of damage easily and are the slowest mech in the game. Maybe try faster mechs, slow mechs aren't for everyone because they play differently.

He doesn't even need to adapt.

1) Get that DWF build ready.
2) Set mission select to "Assault only".
3) Almost never get left behind or flanked early.

If there is one mode that caters to the DWF, it's Assault.

going slow ALONE is bio-hazard... there is always raven that will make 3 full circles around you, before you reload, 1 single weapon.
