Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere.
When was the last time anyone had a round where all players readied up before the count down? Also the wait beyond 50 seconds is most always due to one, occasionally two players at most who are still connecting. Is it fair to make everyone else wait for such few players? I remember early MWO where I'd start a little after the team had taken off and it was no problem, certainly missing out on the first 30 seconds of a match is rarely consequential.
I love this game and I want to see it continue to succeed. My concern is that it already takes some time to find a match and get into a round. A ~70 second count down timer on top just makes the wait that much more boring. Bored is not what you want people to be for 50% of the time they're in the game. If I didn't have a phone with me to browse the web while waiting for matches I probably wouldn't play anywhere near as much as I do.
The ready button was a good idea, but let's face it. It doesn't work. Maybe in a LAN environment but not with 24 randoms on the Internet.

How about a C-bill bonus for every mech if all 24 hit the ready button before the timer runs out?
People might actually use the button then.

The Ready Button is a Lie

I honestly thought the Ready Button was one of those weird psychological things to make us feel like we have some semblance of control.
I don't actually know what happens when all 24 players hit Ready before the timer expires. I assume something happens, but I've only ever seen everyone ready up once and there was less than 5 seconds left anyway so it was hard to say if it changed anything or not.

Ah, the good old days... Nowadays if you're a Dire Wolf on River City and you missed the start of the NASCAR circling by 30 seconds you'll be left behind to be swarmed by a lance of light 'mechs and ripped to shreds.
