Am I missing something or is:

The mechalb, where you used to select icons of mechs, now a strange list of dropdown menus?
The "papaerdoll" of a mech where one could see all the components and change the loadout now also a column of drop down sections that doesn't all display at once?

Is there an option to change this, I am running on really low res so I'm not sure if this is supposed to look like that.

I really hope I'm missing something.

Edit: I guess I'm not THIS is the piece of **** I need to use now. Its not cropped, its not edited. This is the UI, the proportions in the game are stretched, but this is the exact visible area I see in game.

You can't use the expanded mechlab option when your res is below 1600x900

Yeah. Cuz PGI don't know how to scale.

It is in the works... but no ETA at this point. 1600 x 900 isn't that hard to do nowadays is it?

Great, so low resolution users get the shaft and get an unusable mechlab. And this after Paul openly rips on low res users in a town hall meeting telling them to get "better monitors".

Please at least give me the option to revert to the old one. This version is terrible. This version is now WORSE then the old one, I see less then I was able to and the mechlab is now SLOWER then it was. How do these people manage to make things worse is beyond me?

Once again, we get to witness the brilliance of this dev team.

Not everyone has access to a higher res monitor for whatever reason. You shouldn't penalize players with lower resolutions by investing time into making a second low res UI that's WORSE then the old one, its worse then the thing that was an abomination of an UI that we had in the beta.

At least keep the old one and get us the improved low res version when you're done.

Why spend resources on making things that are worse?

**** this game man, really. I don't even know what to say. I just can't get my head around this honestly. These people are ******* stupid. There's really no other way to explain this. Honestly. How do you mess up something this simple, AGAIN. How do you force something on the players that's worse AGAIN for ***** sake?

Isn't the non-expanded version basically the same as the previous? Haven't used it yet, will have to wait until I get home from work tonight.

How about posting a screen shot to help explain the issue?
Or is taking a screen shot and posting it on the forum as hard as choosing a mech in the new UI?

Nope, its worse. What was a selectable list of mech icons is now a drop down menu. The mech loadout screen which showed all components at once is now collapsed and only shows individual components, so at no point do you see the whole loadout of the mech as before.

Its terrible.

Alas no. There are some features missing like the easy way to see which cockpit items were installed on which mechs.

Most notebooks have a smaller resolution, fullHD isn't everywhere. sad, but true. And desktop screens? sure, most have fullHD nowadays but this shouldn't be a problem in the first place.

It should be scaling. start with a small res like 720p or 1024x768. From there your Screen should look thesame, no matter how big your screen gets. every console game can do that.

I'm sitting on 19'' CRT with resolution set to 1280x1024 right now, because I hardly need more. I can set it to 1600x1200, but there is no point and I'm losing refresh rate of 85Hz. I can upgrade to 21'', but then it would take too much space and I hate LCDs with passion.

I'm happy that scaling UI is in works, but really... Why I can go to smurfy or just launch Li Song MechLab and have it all well-scaled while I can't have that in game? Is there any other reason than BCOZ PGI?

Rockin' the 19"! Hell yeah my man. Took me a few months to get used to the "flatness" the LCD's have. The eye strain was not fun.

Flatness isnt' a problem (depends which one, screen flatness or flantess overall, I have CRT with flat front screen), everything else is - colors, blacks, brightness, literally everything. I don't know how people can play on LCD's, but well, people might have different tastes.
