Not sure what else to call it, but for those that haven't discovered it yet...

If one goes to the Store, you can click on any 'mech chassis and click 'Open in MechLab' in the bottom right:

This will allow you to pretty much edit and modify the 'mech in any way you see fit, similar to the smurfy mechlab minus the ability to save. From my playing about it doesn't seem to add C-Bills to your cart either, so you're not limited by your warehouse or credits. You can even play around with the camo spec. :)

EDIT: So it does throw up a warning when you go over your c-bill balance, but you can still edit as per normal nonetheless.

Oh wow. That's actually really cool.

Such a sad thing that they hide all this stuff so much.

WAIT so can you actually edit a mech with stuff/upgrades not on it then BUY it as is and have it decked out as soon as its in your hanger?

Not quite I'm afraid, it simply lets you play around in the mechlab with any 'mech. :)

I would not be the least bit surprised if this was unintended functionality. It is nice to have, though.

Where would be the fun in that. Finding things for ourselves is much more fun.
