Forcing the mech select on us as the only way to browse your mech collection is horrid as I often played whatever mech drew my fancy. Now, when I look at my mechs, dropdown by painful dropdown, I totally lose the urge to play. I'm out until there's a new interface and I'm seriously debating asking for refunds on Wave 3 and Resistance 2. I'll sleep on it and decide in the morning.

PS. The new mechlab could have been separate from the mechbay. PGI chose to couple the two together and now they're reaping what they sowed.

I found the solution by playing just one mech in my pug drops. For the entire day.

Wait, what? .. you can't just select mechs from the mechlab grid anymore?

It's a bit more hassle to master my mechs now. I've recently finished mastering all my Inner Sphere mechs and was considering doing the same for my Clan mechs.

Right now, it goes like this.
  • Click Skills
  • Click a Mech to display all owned variants. Make a note of which variant is not mastered.
  • Click Home
  • Click Select Mech
  • Click a Mech to display all owned variants
  • Click the variant you want
  • Click Save
  • Click Play Now
Then you play a game or two, hopefully getting your 2XP bonus for that mech, and you move on to the next mech. Click Skills, Click a mech, Click Home, Click Select Mech, Click a mech, Click the variant, Click Save, Click Play Now.

First world problems, I know. But it does get a bit tiresome when you're trying to master a large number of mechs by getting that 2XP bonus every day. It seems like this could be avoided if the Mech Select, Mechlab and Skills menus were better integrated, with more lateral flow.

I'm with Johnny on this one. All my mechs are suited up and ready to drop. I know each mech I have and can visualize what mech I feel like playing at any given time. I just hope someday we can select from 2 drop decks, many of my builds are situational like my boreal vault choice mechs don't work so well in emerald tiaga etc.
