Using Reddit as an example, downvotes are never used appropriately. I was surprised at first there was no dislike but after considering the ramifications I believe we're better off without it.

Also, now with Goons in here and their severe childish use of teh current system and "like-ing" every stupidity, just to support their cause, do you really think dislike button would've helped? Anyone of different mind would instantly get shut-down, since if someone implements a "dislike" function, it generally has a set ammount of hits until the post gets deleted, or just hidden. ;)

Hey buddy we are not all trolls some of us can even make good post.

If you have a reason to not wan't a dislike button that is fine, but try not to be the monkey in the zoo flinging poo. It does nothing more than attract those of us who are trolls and people who pretend to be goons and make horrible post just to give us a bad name.

With the strong presence of goons, a dislike feature is the last thing this forum needs.

As it has been previously mentioned, there was already a thread/discussion about this idea. What it comes down to is:

-If you believe a Post is helpful and/or like the post, you "Like" it.
-If you don't agree with a post, or do not like it, you either post your opinion and/or facts, or just move onto the next thread.
-If you think a post is extremely disruptive/unacceptable/inappropriate, you use the "Report" feature.

The only way to abuse a "Like" feature is if you go around Liking your own posts (or your friend's post) for no valid reason other than to inflate an arbitrary number. However, a "Dislike" feature, while it could be helpful to a forum full of mostly responsible/mature posters, it will definitely be abused at a rate proportionate to the number of irresponsible/immature posters... especially once the game goes open/public. Either the "Dislike" feature would serve no purpose at all (because many good posts will always be Disliked by those irresponsible/immature posters), or, it will create an administrative nightmare for Forum Administrators/Moderators to research every "Dislike" or spike of Dislikes (for the same reason).

If you can't see this problem with the idea of a "Dislike" feature, then I can only assume you are not experienced enough with forum moderation, or, have not seen/experienced these type of posters I am referring to. My only other thought is someone would want a "Dislike" button simply because they want to go and "Dislike" all the posts of someone they don't like. Ultimately, this not a "Review" website where you can "Rate" someone's post. It is a Forum that has the added benefit of complimenting your fellow forum community members for contributing to the forums.
