drop half a ton of SRM ammo and a heat sink and you can fit an XL200 in.

What to do sell the damned thing and by a huggin or an oxide, spider 5k, urbanmech, basically any 4 ballistic light is better than this. Worthy of note I love my panthers and the 10p is a creation of pgi, its not lore. For them to add more panthers with more speed and varied builds the timeline needs to be extended.

They could have at least given it 4 ballistic slots so it could MG worth a damn. This thing is embarrassing.

Um, I wouldn't buy an Oxide (and I own one). The Jenner IIc makes it beyond obsolete, and the Huggin is so much meaner and has JJs.

I haven't had a chance to do anything with my Panthers, this thread has inspired me to give the little guys another go.

Well I'll be d*mned, that thing looks like it might actually be fun to run. I was about to give up on the 10P, although I love Panthers in general. I might go with only 25 Gauss rounds (and be sure as hell to make each round count), and put 1 JJ into that remaining slot.

I guess you'll know the FLPPD meta is real when even light mechs come toting gauss rifles...

It's like PGI decided the unquirked Huginn wasn't bad enough. They needed to make something worse.

Just rolled out a decent match.

Xl170
2 jumpjets
1 AC2 - 3 1/2 tons of ammo
1 Mgun - 2 1/2 tons of ammo
x2 SRM4's

Soooooo good.

Great score but all these 'interesting' builds you guys are coming up with where the panther is going under 100 or even 90kph or so can only work in pugs.. never in group matches.

Its a fun mech and I would never use funmechs in the Groupqueue
And the most fun I had with one AC5 and 2SRM2s (XL255). The AC5 works fine with the quirks and only the ballistic ones are good quirks on this chassis.

Tried my 10P for the first time this week. And it is weak! I'm sure some people have success, but I personally just can't stand it. They give you Panther with a nice engine cap, then hardpoints that are useless if you want to try to utilize that nice engine cap.

Just bad all around.

It is a little odd that they dropped the highest engine cap on the Panther least able to make use of it. The only thing I can think of that'd fit on a 300XL config would be dual SRM4s... and forget a STD 300. But... the 10K and 8Z can both do zombie STD250 SRM builds, and get to bring useful arm weaponry as well when they do it.

No, the best way to go is almost certainly dual AC2s or a single medium/large ballistic (with or without SRMs for backup), like a UAC5, AC10, or Gauss. Those are the only things this variant can do that the other three Panthers can't do better. Which isn't horrible; the other Lights (other than the Spider, which of course I forgot like a fool) that can run ballistics can't do it in a fully flexible arm, whereas the 10P can. It's just hard to make a ballistic light perform.

I just bought one, and aside from the ugly arm mount, it's pretty fun. First I tried the stock load out and I just didn't get the AC2. Swapped straight across for an AC10 w 2 tons of ammo - that was more fun, pulled off some interesting kills.

I downsized to an AC5 and a MG, just to cram a larger engine. It will be interesting to see how that turns out :) I mainly want to find an effective STD engine load because they tank similar to Vindicators (in my experience).

imo other panthers are more std friendly - 2 srm-4 and some lasers
this one it's 2 mg and 2 srm-4 http://mwo.smurfy-ne...567e9a621311b24

Useless? This is a XL295 with 2 jets and 750 missiles. Run from tonight with a 830 match score

as per usual NSFW language etc, etc.

Dakka Lite:
(Ed: add ferro) Bring an AC5, an XL between 265 and 280, and strip the left arm for some extra tonnage. Add JJs and ammo to taste. (Ed: for UAC5, go for the 265 or 270, maaaaaybe 255, less JJ, cut ammo last)

It uses the dakka quirk, and the high engine cap. With an AC5 cooldown, you're putting 5 pts of damage downrange repeatedly in just a microfraction over a second, with better speed, heat and tonnage efficiency than the 2AC 2 build.

To add SRMs, drop the ferro (need the crits) and a little AC5 ammo, drop the engine to a 225, and bring 2SRM2 and a ton of SRM ammo for backup brawlz.

It thought of it after spectating tfun90 rocking a 2AC5 WVR-6R this week in solo PUGs. Brittle and risky? Yes. Shake RedTeam's view of the world and run like the wind, I say. ;) (Ed: looks like someone already posted the max engine version ...)

Mmmmm dakka. On a 35 tonner. At RVN speeds or WVR speeds. I want bigger dakka quirks though, I'm greedy. 30% would be nice. :)
