How many modes of play could there be in MWO?
The only limit is your imagination...
I'm thinking there are 3 modes of play
1) Team Play
2) Individual Play
3) Strategy
Take that a step further, what options are there for team play, individual play and strategy.
Solaris comes to mind for individual play
King of the Hill for Team Play
Some kind of planetary or sphere domination for strategy, which I imagine will be a measure of Team Play
Then add in the mechanism for monetary and trade system.
Then add in evolution of game play over time.
Then add in evolution of story line over time.
What are your thoughts?

I don't see how they make the entire game concept work without some kind of ladder play. I'm a major fan of the solaris field and not having that would be very sad indeed....

DM
Solaris 7 (like DM but in an arena and money prizes)
TDM
CTF
Mission Play
Destroy - Defend key targets
Escort Convoy - Destroy Convoy OR Capture Convoy - VIP
Recon Key Targets - Destroy Recon force? (hmmm)
Capure Base - Destroy Attackers (maybe like terrrain control on MWLL)
mission play was fun on MW4. but i really enjoyed Quake Wars objective play (destroy A capture B Hack C) so i was thinking possibly the suggestions above and make it a progressive mission with no respawn (would be too easy ) so for example, a lobby of 16 people 8 a side, then 4 players on each objective Obj 1 Destroy-Defend firebase Obj 2 Capture Mech Hangers (doesnt have to be 16 players could be more with more obejctives to defend/attack)
i'm sorry if it makes little sense, its 4:00am here iam rather sleepy XD

it makes perfect sense, for 4am, and is kind of what i am most hoping for. no-respawn objective based missions, balanced at least by tonnage but hopefully by combat rating too.
solaris is a total must though, 1vs1 to lance vs lance.

No worries. I'm beginning to think that this could be a massive undertaking and was really just interested in all of the possible modes of play....

Would be interesting if there were optional sizes for team play. For example lance vs, lance, company vs. company, heck, why not even battalion vs. battalion? Ofc the latter might be more suited to be part fo the "strategy" angle. Would also give give the player clans an easier start possibly, as early on they might not be able to field bigger unit sizes. Not every player clan will have 36+ players right at game launch.
Hopefully, there also will be some sort of "Solaris game mode". Could even make Mechs for that one fully customizeable, no limitations imposed that other game modes might have. After all, even if you go back to the original Solaris VII boxed set from the TT game, there you had Mechs you never saw elsewhere.
